enmity will ruin us

आप्तद्वेषान्भवेन्मृत्युः परद्वेषाद्धनक्षयः।
राजद्वेषाद्भवेन्नाशो ब्रह्मद्वेषात्कुलक्षयः॥
चाणक्यनीतेः उद्धृतम्
āptadveṣānbhavenmṛtyuḥ paradveṣāddhanakṣayaḥ|
rājadveṣādbhavennāśo brahmadveṣātkulakṣayaḥ||
cāṇakyanīteḥ uddhṛtam
If one incurs the enmity of a person who was very close to him and shared many secrets, the consequence can be as bad as death. If one persists on inimical exchanges with others they  will become his enemies in due course and he will be divested of all his wealth.  If one incurs the wrath of the Government, he will ultimately face serious damages and if one rubs the learned people on the wrong side and receive their curses, his whole clan will perish.
