His divine touch...



if we filter through some anecdotes in the Purana or similar lore, it is quite possible that we may hit upon some poorva katha about the state of Putana at the moment she breastfed the Lord and how did she became a rakshasi and all..
But it is not very relevant..

Even though it was with the dark intent to feed the child with poison and kill him, the sparsha deeksha must have purified her of all her sins and the Lord and she would have discovered that such a purified soul did not deserve to be present in this world..
Her presence at the lotus feet of Narayana has already been ensured.


The supreme ecstasy of motherhood is when the mother introduces the tits of her breast into the soft lips of the infant and the child starts to suckle instinctively.. 
Any woman feeling that thrill would have simply forgotten what she was, though she was a monster intent on killing.. 
A parallel idea to Putana can be found in the speech of Lady Macbeth..
LADY MACBETH
What beast was ’t, then,
That made you break this enterprise to me?
When you durst do it, then you were a man;
And to be more than what you were, you would
Be so much more the man. Nor time nor place
Did then adhere, and yet you would make both.
They have made themselves, and that their fitness now
Does unmake you. I have given suck, and know
How tender ’tis to love the babe that milks me.
I would, while it was smiling in my face,
Have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums
And dashed the brains out, had I so sworn as you
Have done to this.
MACBETH Act 7 scene 2

Added to the ecstasy of feeding any child just think of the effect when the child is the Supreme being manifest in that form

And realization of the supreme can occur to a person all too suddenly, and this Lady Putana was always thinking of ways and means of feeding this child , and incidentally the child itself who is the God.. and her concentration must have been absolute and the sense of purpose unshakable.
Is this not enough for emancipation?
