Reply to a query about chanting of certain stotras and mantras

Reply to a query about chanting of certain stotras and mantras.. like Vishnusahasranamam etc
RathaangapaanirakshobhyaH Sarvapraharaayuthah रथाङ्गापाणिरक्षोभ्यः सर्वप्रहरणायुधः
is part of Vishnusahasranamamam.. Part of the phalashruti would be seen in Mahbharatham..
There are other quotes too in phalashruthi... Aapaduddharanastotram is a collection of stotrams from many places..
Puranas, traditional slokas and so on..
Apaduddharana stotram is not from any single puranam or itihasam..
For example aalodya sarvasaastraaani...
आलोढ्य सर्वशास्त्राणि विचार्य च पुनः पुनः
इदमेकम् सुनिष्फन्नं ध्येयो नारायणो हरिः।
āloḍhya sarvaśāstrāṇi vicārya ca punaḥ punaḥ
idamekam suniṣphannaṁ dhyeyo nārāyaṇo hariḥ| etc is found in Harivamsham, some versions of Bhagavatham. etc.. in some versions of Vishnu Puranam too..
From Vishvam vishnur.. .. to sarvapraharaayudha विश्वं विष्णुर ....सर्वप्रहरणायुधः
is a single chapter in Mahabharatam..
149 th chapter of Anushashika Parvam slokas 4 to 120..
There is nothing wrong in chanting Vishnusahasranamam alone without any other introduction or phalshruthi..
In fact dharmasastras say that when one is in pollution or physically not clean, he should not chant any names of Gods.. but the name "Narayana" is an exception.. Whatever may the state of a man, he can chant the Narayana Namam.. if his mind, thoughts spirit and lips would permit it..
