whether karadayan nombu is karva chouth

Some friend asked whether karadayan nombu is karva chouth
My clarification
This is a function celebrated by Tamil speaking people..everywhere.
The migrants from Tamilnadu too celebrate this.
It is celebrated by all ladies by tying cotton threads around their necks praying for long and uninterrupted married life with soumangalyam.
The moment of celebration is when the Meenam or Panguni month is born..that is sun enters meenam.
The ladies observe fast on that day..except for one single ada made if rice flour and jaggery..and a little butter. The day is celebrated in honour of Savitri.
I know karva chouth too is observed with this idea. But how can you say karva chouth and Karadayan nolumbu are the same?
The culture and tradition across India vary.
And even the Tiruvatira is observed in Kerala with the same idea.
