money has its own way

दानं भोगो नाशस्तिस्रो गतयो भवन्ति वित्तस्य।
यो न ददाति न भुङ्क्ते तस्य तृतीया गतिर्भवति।।
Bharthruhari

dhaanam bhogo naashah thisro gathayo bhavanthi viththasya
yoh na dhadhaathi na bhungthey  thasya thritheeya gathir bhavathi

the money one earns can have three outlets, 
the first outlet --being given away  for noble causes as  gifts, 
the second outlet  being its hearty enjoyment by the one who earned it , 
and
 the third outlet  complete loss or destruction. 
The wealth of a person who neither gives it nor enjoys it ultimately drains through the third outlet 
The money accumulated by a stingy person may take leave of him 
may be taken away by thieves, robbers etc, 
or through confiscation by the rulers.
