glory of snuff

जपेषु जपमध्येषु जपान्तेषु पुनः पुनः 

नासिकाचूर्णमादाय कोटियज्ञफलं लभेत्

This is a  funny satirical couplet  which has gone the round among  purohitas and priest and  brahmins who  chant in  vedic sessions too.   The snuff was a favourite for  the priestly class.. perhaps the only luxury in their otherwise dreary yet very strict  life..

The meaning

 One who  inhales snuff at the beginning of a chant, during the  chant and also at the conclusion of the chant would attain  the  benefits of  one crore  Yajnas..

This is just a joke... No offence meant to anyone..

നാസികാചൂർണ്ണമാദായ  കോടിയജ്ഞഫലം ലഭേത്

ജപം തുടങ്ങുന്ന സമയത്തും ജപം നടക്കുമ്പോഴും ജപം അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോഴും  പൊടി വലിക്കുന്നവന്  ഒരു കോടി യജ്ഞം ചെയ്ത ഫലം കിട്ടും  

 ഇത് വെറും തമാശയാണ്..  ആര്‍ക്കും പരിഭവം അരുതേ.
