पीत्वा कर्दमपानीयं भेको रटरटायते।
पक्वं चूतरसं पीत्वा गर्वं नायाति कोकिलः॥
नित्यनीति २८
pītvā kardamapānīyaṁ bheko raṭaraṭāyate|
pakvaṁ cūtarasaṁ pītvā garvaṁ nāyāti kokilaḥ||

The behaviour and the character of a person depends largely on his background and the attitude.. Some people even though they are not in any position of eminence would nevertheless be very arrogant and showy.. They would show off . Some nice persons would be very humble even when they are in high positions, and they would never show off.
The frog is living in the gutter drinking dirty water, but would make loud and croaking noises.. The cuckoo lives on drinking the ripe and sweet juice from mango fruits.. But they never show arrogance..

പലരുടെയും സ്വഭാവവും പെരുമാറ്റവും അവരുടെ ജീവിതസാഹചര്യങ്ങളനുസരിച്ചും അവരുടെ ജീവിതത്തോടുള്ള സമീപനത്തെ ആശ്രയിച്ചും ആവും.
നിത്യനീതിയില്‍ നിന്ന്‍ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച സുഭാഷിതം ഇതാണ് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്
ഓടയില്‍ ജീവിക്കുകയാനെങ്കിലും വൃത്തികെട്ട വെള്ളം മാത്രം ആണ് കുടിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിലും തവളകള്‍ ഉച്ചസ്ഥായിയില്‍ ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. കുയിലുകലാകട്ടെ കുടിക്കുന്നത് മധുരമേറിയ പഴുത്ത മാമ്പഴത്തിന്‍റെ രസം ആണ്. പക്ഷെ അവ അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നില്ല. കൂവി വിളിക്കുന്നില്ല.
