It is a very famous samasya put to Kalidasa. of course it is a traditional slokam and cannot be traced to any mahakavyam etc.

कुसुमे कुसुमोत्पत्तिः श्रूयते न तु दृश्यते ।

बाले तव मुखाम्भोजे नेत्रे इनादीवरद्वयौ।।

This is a famous Samasya or riddle attributed to Kalidasa

Kalidasa was asked

We hear of a flower blooming inside a flower.. But we never see such a thing..

പൂവിനുള്ളിൽ പൂവ് വിടരുക എന്നത് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് പക്ഷെ ഇതു വരെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല
