निर्धनस्य विषं भोगो निस्सत्वस्य विषं रणम्।
अनभ्यासे विषं शास्त्रं अजीर्णे भोजनं विषम्॥

For a man with no money, enjoyments in life would look like poison ( for he could not enjoy life without money)
For a man with no physical strength and power, a war is equal to poison, because for him a war is simply his destroyer
For a person who has no practice, scientific knowledge and practice could prove to be poisonous, because without practice, such knowledge would misfire
and
For a person who is suffering from indigestion, sumptuous food would do the damage like poison..
നിര്‍ധനസ്യ വിഷം ഭോഗോ നിസ്സത്വസ്യ വിഷം രണം।
അനഭ്യാസേ വിഷം ശാസ്ത്രം അജീര്‍ണേ ഭോജനം വിഷം॥
ഹിതോപദേശേ॥
നാരായണ പണ്ഡിതന്‍റെ ഹിതോപദേശത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്
ചിലവാക്കാന്‍ കയ്യില്‍ കാശ് ഇല്ലാത്തവന് ജീവിതത്തിലെ ആഘോഷങ്ങളും സുഖഭോഗങ്ങളും വിഷം പോലെയാണ്.
ചെറുത്തുനില്‍ക്കാനും ജയിക്കാനും മനക്കരുത്തും കയ്യൂക്കും ഇല്ലാത്ത ആള്‍ക്ക് യുദ്ധം നേരിടുന്നത് വിഷം കഴിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നെ വിനാശകരമായിത്തീരും.
പ്രവൃത്തിപരിചയവും പ്രായോഗികമായ കഴിവും ഇല്ലാത്തവന്‍റെ കയ്യിലുള്ള ശാസ്ത്രത്തിലുള്ള അറിവ് വിഷം പോലെ ആപത്കരമായിരിക്കും.
ദഹനക്കുറവ് ബാധിച്ചവന് എത്ര നല്ല ആഹാരവും വിഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലമേ ചെയ്യുകയുള്ളൂ.
