kanyaa, kanyakaa

When I tried to go after the etymology for the word Kanya in many dictionaries and treatise like Vacaspateeyaam, Shabdhakalpadruma etc, it was found that the word indicates a girl just above ten years..kanyakaa is just a term by way of fine tuning kanyaa..

Of course, unmarried status and virginity are perhaps traits in that age..

So Kanyakatvam was attributed to the word Kanyka .. but that does not lead us to the implied status or unmarried existence for every kanyaka or kanyaa in all cases..

A particular trait has been generalized..

And kanyakadaanam.. has been understood as what it is now talked about.

One lesson from this discussion is that the readers are not without bias.

. No one is open to any impartial evaluation of a situation..

From birth or through social conditioning or other prejudices people develop certain ideas and preferences.. and they just hold on to them like small girls clinging to their rag dolls..

To discuss with objectivity, and clinging to obvious precedents with subjectivity thrown to the rear is impossible in these forums..

And to initiate such discussion is terribly foolish.. and waste of time..

But one good turnout is that some worst fellows who pose as liberals and crusaders could be spotted in their real colours..
