Even today, there is no bar on any individual preventing him from striking a golden mean or balance between tradition and modernity..
With due respects to the wisdom of our forefathers, and fully endorsing the sacrifice of the parents of those days of little affluence, I cannot help remarking that only the individual concerned can develop, nurture, and maintain the character within him.. either noble or ignoble, according to his own choice or convenience..
The difficulty with ethics and good behaviour is that these do not get rewarded immediately, or within some predictable time-frame..
Even the best of human beings just suffer and succumb to agony and even disaster..
We should develop faith.. and love our character and God for the sake of the intrinsic beauty of character and love..
and leave the rest to God
or to chance if owe do not (definitely I do) believe in God..
What else to do?
