पिबन्ति नद्यः स्वयमेव न अम्भः
स्वयम् न खादन्ति फलानि वृक्षाः।
धाराधरो वर्षति नात्महेतवे
परोपकाराय सतां विभूतयः॥
pibanti nadyaḥ svayameva na ambhaḥ
svayam na khādanti phalāni vṛkṣāḥ|
dharādharo varṣati nātmahetave
paropakārāya satāṁ vibhūtayaḥ||
the rivers do not drink away their own water..
the fruit yielding trees do not eat their fruits
the clouds do not pour rain for their own use
The wealth of good people is used for the help of others..
