शतमप्यपराधानां सुकृतेनैकेन नाशयत्यार्यः।
नाशयति कृतशतान्यपि नीचस्त्वेकापराधेन॥ ५६ ॥
śatamapyaparādhānāṃ sukṛtenaikena nāśayatyāryaḥ।
nāśayati kṛtaśatānyapi nīcastvekāparādhena॥ 56 ॥
A noble person, a man of class, would make good or compensates the adverse effects of numerous wrong or misdirected actions through even a single exemplary action.
However a lowly person, even if he has managed to perform numerous positive activities, would thwart or destroy the good effect of all such deeds through a single wrong action.

शतं अपि even a hundred, numerous अपराधानां wrong actions, deeds एकेन सुकृतेन by one single noble deed, noble gesture आर्यः the noble, classy person नाशयति nullifies, destroys . नीचः the lowly fellow तु indeed कृत शतान्यपि hundreds of positive actions एकापराधेन by singe misdeeds नाशयति thwarts, destroys.
ശതമപ്യപരാധാനാം സുകൃതേനൈകേന നാശയത്യാര്യഃ।
നാശയതി കൃതശതാന്യപി നീചസ്ത്വേകാപരാധേന॥ ൫൬ ॥
തരമുള്ള ആള്, നല്ല മനസ്സുള്ള വ്യക്തി അയാള്ക്ക് നൂറുകണക്കിന് തെറ്റുകളും അപരാധങ്ങളും ചെയ്യേണ്ട സാഹചര്യങ്ങളില് പെട്ടുപോയാലും അത്തരം തെറ്റുകള് കൊണ്ട് സംഭവിക്കുന്ന പാകപ്പിഴകളും വിഷമങ്ങളും തന്റെ സ്തുത്യര്ഹമായ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പ്രവര്ത്തി കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കും.
അതെ സമയം ഒരു നീചനും ദുഷ്ടനുമായ വ്യക്തി നൂറു നല്ല കാര്യങ്ങള് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അതിന്റെ ഗുണമെല്ലാം തന്റെ വിവരക്കേടു നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തി കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ തകര്ത്ത് ഇല്ലാതാക്കും
