the one who help us even though far off is our kin

A person who would do us good is to be considered as a close relative even if he is physically separated from us through great distance or other considerations. At the same time a relative by physical closeness, should be kept at great distance or treated as not so close if he does not think and act in a way that would be beneficial to us.
A disease, which has remained with us all through our lifetime, though very close to us is actually not favourable to us in any way. However, a herbal medicine, growing in a distant forest, though physically far off is to be treated as a very favourable object.
