A discerning person should always consider the pros and cons and long term consequences of any endeavour he is starting. Any action performed in great haste can in the long run lead to aftermaths which may burn his heart forever like a sharp and poisonous dart (or arrow)
It would appear that men of wisdom of all ages were always wary of hasty actions . The same idea has been repeated by all great seers..Bharavi said.." sahasaa vidatheedha na kriyaam.. nothing should be done on an impulse".. chanakya said.. " avicharya na vakthavyam.. one should not utter a word without proper deliberation" . In the judicial systems of any cultured society, hasty actions without proper application of mind are frowned upon and such actions are struck down mercilessly. And I am sure every human being will have some such actions to his credit, and they would be causing permanent heartache, enmities, sense of guilt.. True, some arrogant persons never review their actions and have gone beyond any sense of remorse. But then it is a big question whether such persons can be included at all in the list of human beings.
