"My Gurvaayurappa, the Lord of the abode of wind,  unlike the difficult paths of action and knowledge, the bhakthi
( loveladen devotion) to you just produces very quick results in the shape of reaching your lotus feet without any difficulty, because such devotion finds its own results by reciting your glory and   listening to the flow of nectar of your sublime lores.  Such devotion spontaneously and without any hard labour  finds its way to the realization of You as the supreme soul, and leads us to the emancipation from worldly woes without any delay. My beloved Lord Guruvaayurappa, may you be pleased to bless me without any delay  with   that devotion alone which on the mere contemplation of your Lotus feet lifts me to unparalleled levels of ecstasy  and melts my hardened mind."

Bhattathiri, the learned scholar as he was, started with an erudite description of the various paths one can follow to attain Krishna and with finality of logic concluded that only devotion with sublime love to the Lord can take us to Him very quickly. In the concluding stanza of the second dashakam or Narayaneeyam, the  ardent lover and devotee of Guruvayurappan  comes to the surface pushing back the erudition of the poet, and now he is almost cringing for the love of the Lord, and declared that he wants only that devotion and nothing else. This is in sharp contrast to most of the other dasakams in narayaneeyam where Melpathur  concluded with a request for removal of his own physical ailments.

Krishna is partial to love and devotion rather than erudition.
