the materials used in rudrabhishekam and their order

prathamam gandhatailam ca dvitīyam pañcagavyakam|
pañcāmṛtam tṛtīyam ca caturtham ghṛtameva ca ||
pañcamam payasā snānam dadhnā snānam tu ṣaṣṭakam|
saptamam madhunā snānam aṣṭamam cekṣudaṇḍajam||
navamam nimbatoyam ca daśamam nāḻikerajam|
ekādaśam gandhatoyamatha kumbhābhiṣecanam||

the first is gandha toyam.. or scented fresh gingely oil
the second is panchagavyam
the third is Panchaamrutam
the fourth is melted butter or ghee
the fifth is milk.. cows milk
the sixth is curd.. of cows milk
the seventh is honey
the eigth is the juice crushed out of the sugarcane ( some say even jaggery water will do.. but actually we should use sugarcane juice)
the ninth is the juice extracted from lemon
the tenth is the water from tender coconut
the elevent is scented paste of sandal in liquid form
and after offering abhishekam chanting Sri Rudram eleven times and offering abhisheka to the Lord with the above eleven materials,
finally the lord should be bathed in the fresh water contained in the Kumbham where the lord was invoked and worshipped..

Notes

panchagavyam is the five holy materials derived from the cow... the milk, the curd, the ghee, the urine and the dung

panchaamrutham consists of five tasty things...or amruthams.. the composition vary .. but the general ingredients are pulverised banana fruit, jaggery, ghee, honey, and a little yoghurt or curd In addition dried fruits, raisins, elaichi, nuts etc are also added by some..

for worship of God the Shistacharam is that we use products from cow and not from buffalo or goat.. At least that is what we do in Tamilnadu and Kerala.. Opinions can vary..
