musings 76

The meaning of the word samskritam is samyak (shuddhee)kritam...
meaning something which has been refined or purified out of something which prevailed in a crude or base fashion.
The language ordinarily used by the people was rather crude and without strict linguistic rules. This dialect was in general termed as prakritam.

Therefore the primary hallmark of Sanskrit is its refined and extremely benevolent state.
Jarring notes abusive words and expletives are alien to Sanskrit.
Precision and attention to minor niceties are other distinctive features of this most refined language.
A really gentleman's language in words usage and spirit
