यस्मिन् जीवति जीवन्ति बहवः स तु जीवति ।
काकोऽपि किं न कुरूते चञ्च्वा स्वोदरपूरणम् ॥

Otherwise, what is the meaning in existence.. ? Even a crow is just flying around and scavenging all the dirt and is filling its stomach..
A life that is of no use to others is here compared to the drab existence of a nameless crow..

പഞ്ചതന്ത്രത്തില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു സുഭാഷിതം
ഒരാളുടെ ജീവിതം യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ ആ പേരിന്നു അര്‍ഹാമാവുന്നത് അയാളുടെ ജീവിതം കൊണ്ട്, അയാളുടെ പരിശ്രമം കൊണ്ട്, അയാളെ ആശ്രയിച്ചു ഒട്ടേറെ പേര്‍ നല്ല വണ്ണം ജീവിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ്‌
അല്ലാതെ കാക്കയും പറന്നുനടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്‌. കൊക്കുകൊണ്ട്‌ കണ്ണില്‍ കണ്ടതെല്ലാം ചികഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് വയറു നിറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്. അതു പോലുള്ള ജീവിതംകൊണ്ടു എന്ത് ലാഭം?
