Even though a person may try to conceal his real motives his body language and behaviour will betray him.  This is what Chanakya has said in his aphorisms on human conducts.  The great storyteller of Panchatanatram, Vishnu sarma has further elaborated "Through  the shape and curves of the body, through gestures, through the gait, through movements of the limbs, through speech, and the subtle movements of the eye and the lips and through changing involuntary emotions,  a person would reveal whatever thoughts  he is trying to conceal from others.
Our own body and limbs are often treacherous.  Maybe due to social compulsions or due to the shame involved, we may try often to conceal the true thoughts arising in our mind. We may apply the throttle of self control and try to show a blank face.  But self control is a fleeting phenomenon. Within a short time the shape and manners of the body, the stealthy walk, talk and speech  will  betray our hidden agenda .  A well experienced person does not require any lie detector to divine this.  We see this happening especially in children who want to conceal small things from parents, spouses while dealing with petty matters in day to day affairs, lovers, especially young and fresh when they are exposed to company in public gaze, thieves, government officials taking bribe...etc..the list can be quite long.  It is the law of nature..If the innards are rotting the shine of the skin will gradually fade and the stink will come out.
