The inspiration to sing the praise of the Lord comes spontaneously, when the mind is ripe for it.

paṭhanto nāmāni pramadabharasindhau nipatitāḥ
smaranto rūpaṁ te varada kathayanto gunakathāḥ|
caranto ye bhaktāstvayi khalu ramante paramamūn
ahaṁ dhanyān manye samadhigatasarvābhilaṣitān||1||
śrīmannārāyaṇīyaṁ daśakaṁ ||3||

In the earlier chapter, Bhattathiripad was invoking the mercy of Guruvayurappan for the germination of the feeling of love and devotion towards His lotus feet. In this chapter, the poet is attempting to give an action plan as to how such devotion for the Lord that is nascent in the mind of the devotee should be nurtured and with constant practice made to blossom to its fullness. According to the poet only the devotees of Guruvayurappan are worth anything in this world..The lives of others are mere waste.
"My Lord and Master Guruvayurappa, you are the spontaneous source of all Grace and boons to every being without discrimination.  I can consider only those devotees of yours who will meet the following test as the fortunate ones  who have attained all that is to be attained in this world.  (1) they, on reading, reciting your names (2) on contemplating on the most enchanting form without any distraction and (3) on hearing and expounding the glorious lore of Yours as given in Shruti, Smriti and Puranas   could give up their mind and body at your merciful feet and dissolve themselves in the supreme ecstasy which can emanate only from that pair of feet."
It is indeed  strange how the same idea is given by another realized soul of different age and landscape.  Saint Arunagirinathar, starts  his Kandar Anubhuuthi, (The ecstasy flowing from Skanda)  like this.. ஆடும் பரிவே லணிசே வலெனப்பாடும் பணியே பணியா யருள்வாய்...aadum parivelanishevalenappaadum paniye paniyaayarulvaay... Arunagiri is in the Anubhuuti or ecstacy seeing the Lord Murugan sitting atop a well-bred horse, holding his spear on one hand and the rooster insignia on the other, and the seer-poet's only request is that the Lord should grant him the fortune of having only on job..that is singing the lore of Murugan.. What Murugan is to Arunagiri, is Guruvayurappan to Bhattathiri.
The inspiration to sing the praise of the Lord comes spontaneously, when the mind is ripe for it.
