According to Bharthruhari it is    death or a condition worse than that when some people are confronted with pathetic  or unsavoury situations such as:-
For the chaste woman on separation from her dear husband
For a dignified and self-respecting person when his honour is challenged.
For noble persons when they are scandalized.
For the learned persons when they are openly defeated in  scholarly debates.
For the wicked fellows when they find others reaching high levels of fortune or welfare.
For the idiots with no knowledge and skill when they land up in foreign terrains.
For the rich persons who are used to pomp and pelf when they are deprived of the service of the menials and servants.

Fwd: 2 Real Stories

Two Stories -
Both True And Both Worth Reading!!!
STORY NUMBER  ONE

Many years ago, Al Capone virtually owned  Chicago.  Capone wasn't
famous for anything heroic. He was notorious for enmeshing the windy
city in everything from bootlegged booze and prostitution to murder..

Capone had a lawyer nicknamed
"Easy Eddie." He was Capone's lawyer for a good reason.  Eddie was very
good!  In fact, Eddie's skill at legal maneuvering kept Big Al out of
jail for a long time.

To show his appreciation,
Capone paid him very well.  Not only was the money big, but Eddie got
special dividends, as well.  For instance, he and his family occupied a
fenced-in mansion with live-in help and all of the conveniences of  the
day..  The estate was so large that it filled an entire  Chicago City
block. Eddie lived the high life of the Chicago mob and gave little
consideration to the atrocity that went on around him.

Eddie did have one soft spot, however. He had a son that he loved
dearly.  Eddie saw to it that his young son had clothes, cars, and a
good education. Nothing was withheld. Price was no object. And, despite
his involvement with organized crime, Eddie even tried to teach him
right from wrong.  Eddie wanted his son to be a better man than he
was.Yet, with all his wealth and influence, there were two things he
couldn't give his son; he couldn't pass on a good name or a good
example.

One day, Easy Eddie reached a difficult decision. Easy Eddie wanted
to rectify wrongs he had done. He decided he would go to the authorities
and tell the truth about Al "Scarface" Capone, clean up his tarnished
name, and offer his son some semblance of integrity.  To do this, he
would have to testify against The Mob, and he knew that the cost would
be great.  So, he testified.

Within the year, Easy Eddie's life ended in a blaze of gunfire on a
lonely  Chicago Street .  But in his eyes, he had given his son the
greatest gift he had to offer, at the greatest price he could ever pay.
Police removed from his pockets a rosary, a crucifix, a religious
medallion, and a poem clipped from a magazine.

The poem read:
"The clock of life is wound but once, and no man
has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early
hour.  Now is the only time you own. Live, love, toil with a will. Place
no faith in time. For the clock may soon be still."

STORY NUMBER
 TWO

World War II
produced many heroes. One such man was Lieutenant Commander Butch
O'Hare. He was a fighter pilot assigned to the aircraft carrier
 Lexington in the South Pacific.

One day his entire squadron was sent on a mission.  After he was
airborne, he looked at his fuel gauge and realized that someone had
forgotten to top off his fuel tank.He would not have enough fuel to
complete his mission and get back to his  ship. His flight leader told
him to return to the carrier.  Reluctantly, he dropped out of formation
and headed back to the fleet.

As he was returning to the mother ship, he saw something that turned
his blood cold; a squadron of Japanese aircraft was speeding its way
toward the American fleet. The American fighters were gone on a sortie,
and the fleet was all but defenseless.  He couldn't reach his squadron
and bring them back in time to save the fleet.  Nor could he warn the
fleet of the approaching danger.  There was only one thing to do.  He
must somehow divert them from the  fleet.

Laying aside all thoughts of personal safety, he dove into the
formation of Japanese planes.  Wing-mounted 50 caliber's blazed as he
charged in, attacking one surprised enemy plane and then another.  Butch
wove in and out of the now broken formation and fired at as many planes
as possible until all his ammunition was finally spent. Undaunted, he
continued the assault.  He dove at the planes, trying to clip a wing or
tail in hopes of damaging as many enemy planes as possible, rendering
them unfit to fly.

Finally, the exasperated Japanese squadron took off in another
direction. Deeply relieved, Butch O'Hare and his tattered fighter limped
back to the carrier. Upon arrival, he reported in and related the event
surrounding his return.  The film from the gun-camera mounted on his
plane told the tale.  It showed the extent of Butch's daring attempt to
protect his fleet.  He had, in fact, destroyed five enemy aircraft

This took place on February 20, 1942 , and for that action Butch
became the Navy's first Ace of W.W.II, and the first Naval Aviator to
win the Medal of Honor. A year later Butch was killed in aerial combat
at the age of 29.  His home town would not allow the memory of this WW
II hero to fade, and today, O'Hare Airport in  Chicago is named in
tribute to the courage of this great man.

So, the next time you find yourself at O'Hare International, give
some thought to visiting Butch's memorial displaying his statue and his
Medal of Honor.  It's located between Terminals 1 and 2.

SO WHAT DO
THESE TWO STORIES HAVE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER?

Butch O'Hare was Easy
Eddie's son.

All, check this out..

This guy is a real hero.

Hats off to him Forward it to as much as people as you can

Madurai:  If you had not heard of Narayanan Krishnan, as I had not, it
is a collective failure. This is one of the most incredible stories of
personal commitment.

Narayanan Krishnan, all of 29 years old now, does what he was
professionally trained to do as a chef. Feed people. Only Krishnan does
not do this in the swanky confines of a 5-star hotel. Every day, he
wakes up at 4 am, cooks a simple hot meal and then, along with his team,
loads it in a van and travels about 200 km feeding the homeless in
Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Krishnan feeds, often with his hands, almost 400 destitute people every
day. And for those who need it, he provides a free haircut too.

Eight years ago, this award-winning chef with a five-star hotel chain
was all set to go to Switzerland for a high-profile posting. On a visit
to a Madurai temple, he came across a homeless, old man eating his own
human waste. That stark sight changed Krishnan's life.

Much to the dismay of his parents, Krishnan abandoned his career plans
and decided to spend his life and his professional training in looking
after those who could not care for themselves. He has provided more than
1.2 million hot meals through his nonprofit organization Akshaya Trust,
and now hopes to extend this to shelter for the homeless too.

Krishnan is the only Indian in a list of 10 heroes that CNN has picked
worldwide to honor. One of them will be chosen CNN Hero of the Year,
selected by the public through an online poll. If many Indians get
together to vote for this inspiring man, he can win by a long mile.

If Krishnan wins he will get $100,000 in addition to the $25,000 that he
gets for being shortlisted for the Top 10. Akshaya Trust needs all the
monetary support it can get to build on Krishnan's dream. Let's help him
get there.

To vote, follow the link: http://heroes.cnn.com/vote.aspx

We are crawling the Web for more great videos, tweets pictures, blogs
and people that just must be showcased.

You can go to CNNHeroes.com to participate in the poll, which continues
through November 18 at 6 a.m. ET.

wealth of knowledge
and the position and status  as a king should never be compared.
The two are never equal .
The king, at the best, is honoured in his own kingdom, but the scholar is honoured everywhere.

This famous quote  underlines the value of knowledge..  It has to be mentioned here that sheer luck can make a person the leader of all and give him wealth and royal powers too.  But education just comes only through hard work coupled with  dedication and alacrity.
A Kalidasa, an Einstein or  a Tolstoy would find respectful mention anywhere where human beings live,  but even the most powerful leader would vanish into oblivion after some time...
Of course there were kings like Janaka who were scholars too.. But such great human beings are ever remembered for their  erudition.

The life of  noble men is a self taught penance sitting on the edge of a sword (asidhaaraavratam).  They give help to others in secret.  They are very fussy and careful while giving respect to guest who have come to their house.  They will keep absolute silence about some nice things they have done for others.  But they will be very lavish in praising in public the good deeds of others. They are indifferent to wealth. And they present even the criticism of the deeds of others in a manner that would cause no hurt.  The poet wonders who taught these people such a strict code of conduct.

Fwd: One of the best emails I've ever read

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Srinivasan Ravi

Two Choices

What would you do?....you make the choice. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its

dedicated staff, he offered a question:

'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.

Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do the others let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the
plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.
The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!
Run to first!'

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.
He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'
Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball. The smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!
Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day !

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:

We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things.'

So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:

Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

May your day, be a Shay Day.

Forward it to everyone in your list, you will atleast make a difference in some of them who are fortunate enough to find the love and humanity within them.
Just a click and change the world. It's up to u...

Let tyrants and arrogant people be   given priority over the noble persons.
The noble are not the losers.
Is it not the usual practice to clean one's excretory organs before washing the face?
Does it mean that those organs are superior to one's face?

Out of fear and possible backlashes the arrogant people are given more importance in some situations.
Men of steady character and repute need not be peeved by that .
The ultimate winners will be persons with character.

The master Chanakya  advises  that even if a person actually   knows that his chips are down, he should always put on a brave face.
Most of the antagonists are carried away by the appearance and may never know that the material behind the brave face is just nothing .

And  if one decides to suffer in silence without any protest,  he is just free to suffer..
His woes will never end..

Even if a tiny drop of cow's urine is mixed with thousand litres of milk, the entire milk will be spoilt. But even if thousand litres of cow's urine is added to any quantity of buttermilk, nothing happens.  Similarly the noble persons would consider that all their accumulated virtues are lost if they happen to commit even some petty mistake. But for the persons who are doing evil things alone from the time of their birth  any additional evil deed would mean nothing.

In mahabharatham, during the war,, Yudhistira is persuaded to make an untruthful  statement regarding the death of ashwatthama and from that time onwards it is said that his chariot which always floated one feet above the ground level by virute of his dharma, landed on the earth for ever.  But we see liers and utter lier for whom telling a truth is a rare exception. Nothing  happens to them.

Just because one is advanced in age, his inherent nature of being cruel and idiotic does not undergo any change.  The bitter gourd, even if it has become very ripe and red will not leave its bitter taste and become sweet.
The master chanakya here underlines the force of habits.  If one has become used to being cruel and adamant in his younger days, he will not be able to give up his natural propensities and become a saint just because he has grown old.  The appearance of a man of ripe age can be very deceptive. In physical stature and in behaviour, he may appear to be very pious. But the poison inside will be still potent.  We are seeing many 'uncles' and "granddads' of this genre in our daily lives.

Even the small merits of the people which do not deserve any particular praise gain great importance when the accolades come from others. However, even if Indra, the powerful king of gods, in spite of being a very important and powerful person deserving a lot of praise, will look silly and childish if he attempts to to brag of his own meritorious deeds.

Praise should come from others. This alone will make a person look respectable.  In old dramas we will find that when the hero or the person donning the attire of the kind appears on the scene, he starts to announce in no uncertain terms how important a person he is. He may even praise the length of his own moustache. That will be okay for a drama.  But we find people announcing to the whole world even the smallest philanthropic action to which they were part of.   Most of the charitable and apparently generous acts which are published by the doers themselves are more for advertisement and publicity than with any noble intent.

Sri Rama along with Lakshmana and Sita is on his way to the deep forests for a sojourn of fourteen years there.
He reaches the hermitage of Sage Sarabhanga.

The forest was infested with demons and evil people at that time and the ascetics living there were tormented by these demons in many ways.
Therefore all the sages assembled at the hermitage of Sarabanga and voiced their complaint to the son of the King.
This sloka which reminds Rama of the duties of a king is appearing in the Itihasa in this context.

The sages say,  "Oh young prince, the great sin of dereliction from duty awaits the king who takes away one-sixth of the earnings of the subjects as tax but fails to look after their welfare and fails to  protect them as if they were his own sons.

Even though the warning is addressed to a prince thousands of years ago the basic idea underlying it applies to all governments headed by kings or ministers whatsoever.
The rulers of a welfare state, who leave no stones unturned to collect the taxes from the citizens are duty-bound to ensure them a comfortable and unencumbered life.  The failure can result in revolution today.

fourth volume of my compilation of slokas.

My dear friends.  Pranams to you all. I know that because of the synthetic methods of creating fonts, many of the slokas in Devanagari script read only as garbage and only the english translations could be read. I have  converted some 68 slokas into a pdf document and I am attaching the same . Hope this will be of permanent value.

my dear friends,  these days are to be spent in the worship of the mother of energy, mother of wealth and the mother of muses.  anybody who is somebody has become so only because of her Grace.  Our Pranams to Her... no mother will expect pranaams from her children but only unconditional love. Let us love that Mother. How can we repay the affection of the mother?  No way.  Every female is respected as the embodiment of the great mother.  Let us pay respect to that motherhood. There is nothing in this wolrld more sublime that the love of the mother.

Friends I have been taking some part of our cultural past in the shape of ancient books and was trying to explain some parts in my own way..I am sure, I borrowed the sanskrit text but the explanations were purely my own.  Therefore they are sure to be flawed.  I have committed too many howlers,  but hardly ever have I received a hate mail. This is a tribute to your magnanimity.
However I would request you to inform me whether my dispatches are often superfluous and something like chewing the cud, or working of a gramaphone record which has lose some threads.  I would at this stage request my dear friends to inform me  whether I should continue with this.  For me it has become a sacred mission, but I dont want to reach the mailbox of any of the friends as an unwelcome imposition.   I may please be advised.     My pranams to all friends.

Oh my mind, why do you labour  hard and repeatedly  to please the hearts and moods of others?  If you can make yourself calm and clear, will not very pure and spontaneous gems of thought arise from you ?  And such noble thoughts will pave way for the attainment of all your cherished goals.

Life is quite cumbersome for people who are forced to speculate in advance what would please the boss or the elite who are to provide for their  subsistence.  Gradually it becomes a habit with the ordinary human being to extoll rightly or wrongly the thoughts and actions of others. Such dependence on the whims of others kills the capacity of a human being to think calmly and clearly and take decisions for himself.  Intellectual slavery is worse than the most potent poison.

If one gets too close to a king, to fire, to a preceptor or a woman, it is doom for him.  But it will be equally disastrous to keep too much distance from them.  A sensible persons will do well to keep a balanced proximity with these people.
The favour of the king and men in power are essential for our existence.  But they wield the power to finish us in toto.  A lot of discretion is required to deal with them and also save our skin.  Similarly, without fire, survival for us is well nigh impossible. It is nice to cook our food but it may not be pleasant to cook ourselves.
The preceptor is also of the same category. If we keep close to him he will be driving us crazy with his dicta all the time and can become a stone tied around our necks.  But without the preceptor's advise and guidance we will be nowhere. Here again discretion is the better part of valour. ( this would apply to mother in laws also.)
The same discretion will save the day when we deal with women. They are like beautiful and fragrant flowers to watch from the correct distance. If you go near, the makeup will show.  If you are far off, you will see nothing,

Familiarity  breeds contempt.

Even when a person with innate steady character is insulted and forced to submission, he does not lose his boldness and capitulate. It is just like a flame of a lamp. Even if the burning wick of lamp is held upside down, the flame holds itself directed upwards alone.
Hard times can never dampen the character of a bold man.

Fwd: glorious deeds

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Subject: Re: glorious deeds

mama, as brahmins we are supposed to support the edicts of Vedas.  Human thought in fact adhered to the principle of quid pro quo, that is, if you offer god something he will give you back likewise...devaan bhavayathaanena they devaa bhavayanthu naH..krishna said in gita.. but human thought has  outgrown  this state...bribing and getting back bribe lost its appeal...and in upanishadic thoughts the material benefits of worship of god took the back seat...True,  in the Indo Gangetic epoch, attack was the best defence..and in that timeframe the aswamedha could have been justified if not praised.  But after the idea of peaceful co-existence became the cardinal human value, such belligerence lost its meaning.  We both are elderly brahmins, can you or me kill a goat brutally  to conduct a sacrifice? The ideas of such sacrifices were relevant in that period.  The idea of sacrifice was there in bible and Islam also.  We have travelled forward by eons.  Verbatim addiction to vedic dictates will make us aliens or anachronisms. Namaskarams. kva

My dear KVA,

Namaste, I do not whether u are expected me to comment on the subject or just as usual u sent the slokas. However I have just givn my view since copy of e mail is sent to me.

Ur views are appreciable. But anything offered in a yagna is supposed to become holy and reach the feet of Easwara. There are some yagas where other animals are offered, and if that can be approved, this also may be approved. When the horse goes into other's territories, it is a symbol of inviting that king for war. So that cannot be taken as illegal. This is my view.
Rgds, S.Gopalaaswamy.

From: Ananthanarayanan Vaidyanathan <kvananthanarayanan@gmail.com>

my dear Krishnan
I am not at all a votary to the methods and aims of  aswamedha.  In fact aswamedha was only a show of strength, show of arrogance and a means to show other kings their proper place below the performer of the yaga.  In fact the sacrificial horse was let out free to wander into any alien territory (an illegal trespass against all norms of peaceful co-existence) and people were following the horse and if a subject of another nation showed any disrespect, that country was conquered and the ruler was forced into submission. This is the political side of it. What you call hegemony today. Then there were many unnatural and demeaning rituals followed in the yajna. One worst thing was that the night before the killing of the horse and offering it as oblation to the gods through agni, the first queen on empress was expected to spend the night with the horse (sex implied) as if it were her husband.  The sacrifice was a source of immense wealth for the powerful kings because other kings has to send extra offering and tithes for the conduct of the sacrifice.  The brahmins priest, Brahma, Hota  Ritwik , aacharya, and others could demand almost anything by way of daskhina. So it was a field day for brahmins also.  But it would appear that people in those days praised heroic action ( sadistic hero worship) although today a calm and objective mind can view it as an aberration only. It is believed and written in vedas that a king who does 100 aswamedhas will attain the status of Indra. And the occupant of the seat of Indra would manipulate in any way to thwart the 100th aswamedha.  You might have heard the story of Nahusha who got the status of Indra this way and how Indra the purandara managed to dethrone him using the good office of the saptharshi, agastya.  Indra is called Sathamagha, Maghawaan etc because he had conducted more than 100 aswamedha sacrifices.
However, the achievement, although the means were nefarious was an exalted benchmark for glory.  Here in the sloka the glory one gets out of aswamedha alone is mentioned...The modus operandi  of performance is not an issue here. You can see such developments in even the silliest of the things...the groups like orkut, facebook etc.  The fellow who plays the role of the clown or who uses semi porno and tries to win arguments by foul means becomes the hero. The flow of history was the same.

But i have to reiterate one thing, helping the indigent, building temples and lending a helping hand in providing a dignified burial for a fellow human being are all great and exemplary actions.    Regards KVA

Dear Mama,

The options/alternatives mentioned are genuinely great, and something I totally vouch for. But the concept of Ashvamedha Sacrifice, was not something, that had come across as something good, for me, when I read about it. I don't know how they could term such an act/ritual as a great thing.

Not just the final result of the horse being killed, but also the whole process by which the ritual is conducted, and the acts performed as part of the process, somehow could not be digested by me.

What is your take on it? Would be glad to discuss and know more...!

In our religion and culture, performance of the Aswamedha sacrifice is considered to be the most pious and glorious action in a successful mans life. Such performance is supposed go bestow one with all prosperity and suzeranity over people.  Some of the philanthropic act are equated to this great sacrifice in this sloka.  To lend a helping hand to the suffering fellow human being comes first.  Sometimes the idols of some temples (here idol of Lord Siva is cited) are left uncared due to change in the circumstance of the inhabitants of the terrain.  If one takes it upon himslelf the renovation of the fallen temple and arranging for proprer worship of the God in the shape of idol, the same benefits as that would enure on performance of aswamtha yagna.  A human being, however poor and helpless he is deserves a diginified burial or cremation of his mortal remains. If a person voluntarily undertakes to perform the final rites for the dead person, he is equal in status to one who has performed aswamedha.

True, aswamedha is a meaningless rite today. But we should see its importance as seen by our forefathers of four or five millenia ago.
Helping the poor, taking initiative in the renovation of a place of worship and most important helping in giving a diginified burial to an unclaimed human corpse are really glorious acts even today.    (I have seen many pamphlet  calling for help for temple renovation...This is an appropriate sloka which can form caption to such appeals)

A man's reputation is lost by idiotic actions.
By exhibition of uncontrollable anger he loses all his noble traits and their positive effects.
Honesty is sacrificed at the altar of pride.
A person is forced to shed all his dignity on the face of insatiable hunger.
All the hard earned money will be squandered away through bad habits.
When one faces extreme danger, his courage drains away.
A learned man is ruined by wrong actions committed through forgetfulness.  Deliberate cruelty perpetrated by a member annihilates the entire clan.
A fellow throws to winds his humility because of excessive arrogance..

A person's manhood is ruined by wrong and immoral actions.

When a person is reduced to penury, his popularity and respect in the society reach lowest ebbs.
And a person loses  all his knowledge and discretion when  a sense of excessive attachment to mundane things haunts him.

Re: glorious deeds

my dear Krishnan
