What a fall!..

A very interesting statement by Lord Hanuman when He meets Raavaneswara, the demon king of Lanka for the first time  as narrated in Sundarakaandam of Srimad Vaalmikiraamayanam
" What an imposing carriage, what an imperturbable courage, what an awfu size of  body, what a lustre,  the Lord of Rakshasa is indeed a perfectly created personality.  Had his tendency to sin at any cost been not so prominent in his character, this god-like leader of rakshasaas would have been in such an exalted position where he could act as the protector of the heaven with its suzerain, the Indra."

The statement is significant from various angles.
(1)  Aanajaneyaswamy is indeed one of the strongest and wisest living beings ever. Still he has the magnanimity to appreciate greatness even when it is manifested in an avowed enemy.
(2)  The Lord, who knows the past, present and the future is fully aware that, in spite or all the strength and charisma, Ravaneswara had alreday invited death for himself through his sinful activities, and the great fall was imminent.
(3)  The Lord Hanuman delivers a warning to the world that however strong and well-placed one is, if he deviates from the path of righteousness and indulges in sinful activities, nemesis will overtake him and nothing can save him.

What a fall!..
Even though he is a  Raskasa Ravana is  being referred to as Iswara, a title befitting only Lord Siva, Lord Nandi, Lord Sani etc.  Even such a person cannot go scot-free after breaking the Dharama.
