पारुष्यमनृतं चैव पैशुन्यं चापि सर्वशः |
असंबद्धप्रलापश्च वाङ्ग्मयं स्याच्चतुर्विधम् ||

asaṃbaddhapralāpaśca vāṅgmayaṃ syāccaturvidham ||

Use of words and intonations which can cause great damage.. are of four categories according to Manusmriti.
Use of crude, unsophisticated, coarse, unkind words, words that could not bring any good to anyone but can hurt people deeply.
Use of words to convey untruth, convey information that could harm especially words that are deviated from truth.
Use of words that cause unjust damage to someone else, accuse someone of some action or deed which was never committed by him, spread of calumny behind the back through unfair use of words.
Use of words which are simply lacking in any sense, use of words that would convey totally unintended and out of context information that may even mislead peole who listen.
पारुष्यं crudeness, lack of finesse अनृतं lack of truthfulness, पैशुन्यं tendency to find fault, to slander without reason, without justification, harm indirectly and without reason सर्वशः every where असंबद्ध प्रलापः talking without coherence च too चतुर्विधं four types of वाङ्ग्मयं arising out of word दोषः defects, factors causing damage स्यात् would be
പാരുഷ്യമനൃതം ചൈവ പൈശുന്യം ചാപി സര്വശഃ ।
അസംബദ്ധപ്രലാപശ്ച വാങ്ഗ്മയം സ്യാച്ചതുര്വിധം ॥

വാക്കുകള് ചില വിധത്തിലും ചില ധ്വനികളിലും ഉച്ചരിക്കുകയോ പ്രയോഗിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് അവ വളരെ ആഴത്തില് മുറിവേല്പിക്കുകയോ മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്ക് വേദന ഉണ്ടാകുകയോ ചെയ്യും.
മനുസ്മൃതിയില് ഇത്തരം വാക്കുകളെയും പ്രയോഗങ്ങളേയും കുറിച്ച് പറയുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക
അപകടകാരികളായ വാക്കുകള് താഴെ പറയുന്ന വയാണ്.
കര്ക്കശവും, പ്രാകൃതവും ക്രൂരവും ഒട്ടും ദയ ഇല്ലാത്തതുമായ വാക്കുകള്,
ആര്ക്കും ഒരു ഗുണവും ഉണ്ടാക്കാത്ത അതെ സമയം കേള്ക്കുന്നവര്ക്ക് തീവ്രമായ വേദന മാത്രം സമ്മാനിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകള്
നുണയായ വാക്കുകള്,
സത്യത്തില് നിന്നും യാഥാര്ഥ്യത്തില് നിന്നും വിട്ടു നില്ക്കുന്ന, മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്ക് ഉപദ്രവം മാത്രം വരുത്തിത്തീര്ക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകള്
അന്യായമായ വിധം മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്ക് കഷ്ടവും ഹാനിയും വരുത്തുന്ന വാക്കുകള്,
ഒരാള് ഒരിക്കലും ചെയ്യാത്ത ചീത്ത കാര്യങ്ങള് അയാള് ചെയ്തുവെന്ന് കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി അപവാദം പരത്തുന്ന വാക്കുകള്,
തെറ്റായ, അന്യായമായ പ്രയോഗവും ധ്വനിയും കൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞ , പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്തോറും മറ്റുള്ളവരെ സ്വഭാവഹത്യ ചെയ്യുന്നതില് മാത്രം ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുന്ന വാക്കുകള്
ഒരു അര്ത്ഥവും സാംഗവും തീരെ ഇല്ലാത്ത വാക്കുകള്,
ഒരാള് പറയുവാന് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച തികച്ചും വിപരീതമായ
അര്ത്ഥം മറ്റുള്ളവര്ക്ക് എത്തിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകള്, സമയത്തിനും സന്ദര്ഭത്തിനും ഒട്ടും യോജിക്കാത്ത വാക്കുകള്, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കാന് സാധ്യതയുള്ള വാക്കുകള്
