That Black Fellow Krishna  told Arjuna this..

idam sareeram Kountheya kshetram iti abhidheeyate..

इदं शरीरं कौन्तेय क्षेत्रं इत्यभिधीयते

this body, Son of Kunthi, is called the Kshetram of abode of the Supreme

and

easwarah sarvabhootaanam hrud deshe Arjuna tishtathi.

ईश्वरः सर्वभूतानां हृद्देशे अर्जुन तिष्टति

eashvarah sarvaboothaanaam hruddrshe arjuna tishtati 

easwara.. god resides in the heart of all living things..

Both are from Gita...I mean Bhagavat Gita

I am sure you have kept your body clean and have lighted the sanctum of your heart with love and care for all.

So you have always done your duty to Him.

The photos and idols are just symbols.

I do not say you should ignore them or throw them away- but sure, your feeling of guilt is unnecessary and misplaced
