चन्द्रे कलङ्कः सुजने दरिद्रता
मुखाप्रसादः सधनेषु सर्वदा।
विकाशलक्ष्मी कमलेषु चञ्चला
यशो विधातुः कथयन्ति खण्डितं॥
candre kalaṅkaḥ sujane daridratā
mukhāprasādaḥ sadhaneṣu sarvadā|
vikāśalakṣmī kamaleṣu cañcalā
yaśo vidhātuḥ kathayanti khaṇḍitaṁ||

The dark scar in the face of the moon
Eternal poverty for good and noble persons
The ever persistent unhappy and sour face of those who are rich.
The very fleeting nature of the attractiveness of a fully bloomed lotus
The dark areas in the surface of the disc of full moon has disturbed every poet, who embarked on praising its beauty
The good people, who have their mind set on spending all they have for the welfare of others are ever short of cash..
The lotus blooms for only a short time.. in full beauty.. but then it just closes itself.
The rich people are wanting more.. or they are afraid of the challenges that can confront them from various angles.. thieves, burglars, needy relatives and friends, and above all the taxmen.. So their faces are always sour..
It would appear tha the creator makes not so attractive things too and puts his name and fame in jeopardy
