परनिंदासु पाण्डित्यं स्वेषु कार्येष्वनुद्यमः |

प्रद्वेषश्च गुणज्ञेषु पंथानो ह्यापदां त्रयः ||

सुभाषितसुधानिधि

paraniṃdāsu pāṇḍityaṃ sveṣu kāryeṣvanudyamaḥ |

pradveṣaśca guṇajñeṣu paṃthāno hyāpadāṃ trayaḥ ||

Three sureshot paths to danger and ignominy. Being an expert in finding fault with others and losing no opportunity to hurl insult on others. Lack of initiative, laziness in pursuing ones own assigned tasks . Obsessive hatred and lack of tolerance towards people who are indeed of noble character and those who really play a positive role in the upkeep of the social order.

Strangely, every marketing guru, every politician, and every person who aspire to be of some status in society try to further their careers on the basis of the above three factors. Putting down others might give us some initial advantage, but the game is fraught with great dangers.

പ്രദ്വേഷശ്ച ഗുണജ്ഞേഷു പന്ഥാനോ ഹ്യാപദാം ത്രയഃ ||

വലിയ ആപത്തുകളെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്ന മൂന്ന് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍. മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ കുറ്റങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചു അവയെ പര്‍വ്വതീകരിച്ച് കാണിക്കുന്നതിലുള്ള വൈദഗ്ദ്യം . താന്‍ ചെയ്തു തീര്‍ക്കേണ്ട തനിക്കു കിട്ടിയിട്ടുള്ള ചുമതലകള്‍ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നതില്‍ ആലസ്യം. സമൂഹത്തില്‍ നിലയും വിലയും ഉള്ളവരോട്, എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും നന്മ മാത്രം വരേണമെന്നു ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരോട് തീക്ഷണമായ വെറുപ്പ്

ഒരു ദുഃഖസത്യം ഇവിടെ കുറിക്കട്ടെ ഇന്നത്തെ ഓരോ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരനും, വ്യവസായ പ്രമുഖനും, സമൂഹത്തില്‍ ആരെങ്കിലും ആയിത്തീരണം എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരും എല്ലാം ഈ മൂന്നു കാര്യങ്ങളും ജീവിതത്തില്‍ പ്രാവര്‍ത്തികമാക്കാന്‍ കിണഞ്ഞു പരിശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ്. മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഇകഴ്ത്തിക്കാണിച്ചാല്‍ അത് കൊണ്ട് ചെറിയ പ്രയോജനങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവാം. പക്ഷെ ആ പ്രവണത സ്ഥായിയായ ദോഷം മാത്രമേ ചെയ്യുകയുള്ളൂ
