What else is there to save us other than those feet

अमरीकबरीभार भ्रमरीमुखरीकृतं
दूरीकरोतु दुरितं गौरीचरणपङ्कजं।

amarīkabarībhāra bhramarīmukharīkṛtaṁ
dūrīkarotu duritaṁ gaurīcaraṇapaṅkajaṁ|

May the lotus feet of that white lady (Gauri) which is visited by the droning of a large number of beetles which have reached near it while the ladies of the heaven place their heads before those feet, keep away all my evil deeds.

The red feet of the Mother resemble the lotus, and when the damsels of the heaven place their heads in supplication before those feet, the beetles which are occupying the flowers tied to the locks of those ladies just jump away in the illusion that the beautiful red feet of the Mother is a fully blown lotus, and throng around them droning..

What else is there to save us other than those feet

What should one do when he is in danger?
He should meditate on the pair of feet of Amba,, the dear Mother.
What can such meditation do?
That can give you even Brahma etc as your slaves.

Mother Lakshmi, you are the provider of Horses, Cows, and wealth of all kinds.. You are the source of all wealth.. May Your Divine Grace be pleased to bless me with great wealth.
Mother, may your Divine Grace be pleased bless me with sons, grandchildren, wealth, crop of grains, elephants, horses, and chariots driven by horse. Laksmi, you are the mother of all of us your subjects, you grant me long life.
Mother Shree, it is by your sweet Divine Grace that the God of Fire is wealthy , the God of wind is wealthy, the Sun is wealthy, the preceptor of Gods Brihaspati is wealthy, the God of Seas Varuna is wealth, and the twin gods of health Ashvins too are wealthy..
( Here wealth should also mean the respective capacities of the Gods by which they are famous..)
You Garuda, the son of Vinata.. partake in the Soma Juices
You the Slayer of Vritrasure, Indra, partake in Soma juices.
And pleased with the Soma juices, may you provide me, who is desirous of performing Soma Sacrifice, with wealth.. by the Grace of that Divine being Laksmi born with Soma the moon Himself..
( It is famous that Laksmi arose out of the Milky ocean along with Soma,, the herb and Soma the moon too.)
Those fortunate people who recite Shree Sooktham with devotion will never be afflited with anger, nor with sense of unhealthy competition, not with pettiness, and not with bad thoughts and tendencies of the mnd.

Mother, protect me and the earth too, manifesting yourself and going around the three worlds in your peaceful forms, and your grotesque and fearsome forms too.

Ambika, may you protect us everywhere with all the weapons that are held by your hands which resemble tender leaves--weapons like swords, spears and maces.

the Daughter of the Mountain

the Daughter of the Mountain

You, the Daughter of the Mountain(Himavaan)
You who fill the whole earth with happiness
You who entertain the whole universe,
You the darling of Nandagopa,
You who occupies the peak of that lord of mountains, Vindhya,
You who bring supreme pleasure to Vishnu,
You who is worshiped by all those who seek victory,
You the most resplendent one, the consort of Lord Shitikanda, the Shankara,
You who are having a huge family,
You the performer of great deeds

Victory to you the slayer of Mahishaasura ,
Victory to you the dearest of Shiva,
Victory to you the darling daughter of the mountain..

Pranams to the Divine mother
She is today seen everywhere, in the form of all deities going out to fight and vanquish the Mahisha..

(When the earth was having a hundred year famine, She manifested Herself as Shakambhari and brought joy to earth..
When Shumbha and Nishumba the nasty demons infested the earth, she manifested herself as Vindhyaachalanivaasini,, in the womb of Yashoda as the darling sister of Krishna, and killed the two demons.
We can see these described in Chapter 11 of Devi Mahatmyam.)

Mother Annapoorneswari,
perennial perfection personified,
the heart throb of shankara
may your Merciful Grace be pleased
to grant me the alms of knowledge and detachment
The portrayal of ;Divine mother Shakthi as Annapoorna or the perfect and perennial source and storehouse of food is perhaps the loftiest of our concepts of the combination of maternity and divinity..
Every mother carries in herself eternal source of nourishment for her Children..
This Mother also is the source of knowledge and bliss.
Shankara(Lord Mahadeva) had to expiate the sins of having taking away the head of Brahma by wandering on the earth as a wretched beggar, carrying a human skull as begging bowl, knocking at every door for alms.. And the mother knew how proud her Lord was and what would happen to Him, what He would do in desperation, if anyone refused to respond to his plea for alms.. So she just hid behind every door of every house, so that she would be ready with grains to be poured on to the begging bowl, whenever Shambu knocks at a door..
Pranams to the quintessence of womanhood in its supreme sublimity

meaning..

May Her kingdom be there..
She is having innumerable Cows, Innumerable Horses, innumerable cattle, paddy, maize, pulses and sesame in plentiness,

Pranams to that supreme lustrous being, the Divine Mother  Kamakshi,
who is shining forth with the golden red
Colour resembling a bunch of tamala flowers,
who is theannihilator of poverty of all beings who have been born in living bodies,
who is capable of removing the darkness which surrounds the mundane life,
who is occupying the left side of the great Shambhu who vanquished the three cities(tripuras),
who has manifested herself in the banks of Kampa river,
who is present in all Her glory in the tips of the tongues of all
Who are praising her,
and
who is engaged for ever in the protection of the universe.
This is perhaps the most famous stanza from Muuka Panchasati..

The Divine mother removes the poverty of the Devotees, gives deliverance from the samsara sagaram which is shrouded in the darkness of mean instincts, makes scholars of all those are dependent on Her..
Pranams to the Mother.

(Taapincha.. also called Tamaala.. is a tree with
botanical
name Crataeva Roxburghii .. the flower is called
Kaayampoo
in malayalam, kasaamboo in tamil.

The taapincha is also known to be the pomegranate flower..)

I pay my pranaams to the damsel of the lord of three worlds (manifest as brahma, vishnu and shiva). She is showering Grace on us  as the goddess of words and muses, Sarswathi. She blesesses as the beautiful  Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu who carries the leader of birds Garuda in His flagstaff,   She protects us as the Durga who is Sakambari, the one who adorns herself with all the vegetation on the earth, and she is the consort of Shiva the one who is wearing the moon on his head.. She is thus engaged in the game of creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe, as the Sakhti of the triumvirate.
She is the one from whom all of us came, she is the knowledge, she is the wealth and welfare.. May that benign Lady who is the mother of us all protect us.

"May we pay oblations of Soma juice to Jaataveda the fire.  May the all-knowing  Agni destroy all that is not in our favour. He, is the divine fire leads all through his energy and resplendence.  While so leading us may He protect us  by carrying us across all perils of life even as the captain of a ship leads his ship all through the vagaries of the weather.  1

I take refuge in Goddes Durga, who is having the lustre of fire, and is radiant  with yogic penance, who is the Pover of the supreme being who manifests itself in many forms, who  is manifesting herself in all actions and the results thereof   O Mother Durga, You , the expert in showing good path and taking us through difficult terrains, may You be pleased  to take us through the well of mundane existence, which we will not be able to cross by our own skills..2

Oh, Fire, you are worthy of all praise by us.  With your happy methods,  you may be pleased to take us  beyond all difficulties.   May our homes, towns and homeland become extensive  and may our arable plots of land be ample and well nourished.  May You be pleased to join us, our children, and their children all in joy together.  3

May lord Jataveda the Agni, who is  the destroyer of all our sins and sorrows,  be pleased to lead us away from all sins and troubles and protect us in the manner of one who leads people across the ocean in a boat without the passengers feeling any fear or difficulty.  May Agni the Jataveda be pleased to protect our bodies, ever mindful of its safety, just like Sage Atri, who is always repeating in his mind  that "May everyone be whole and happy"  4

We, assembling ourselves in the highest forum. invoke the fire God who is the highest leader of all among us and even beyond us.  The Jataveda, the Agni, charges against and vanquishes all our enemies, with His fierce valour.   May that fire God Jataveda be pleased to  protect us and make our path bereft of all difficulties and wrongs that come by nature to us, and may He be  pleased to wean us away from all that is perishable to lead us to immortality. 5

Oh Agni, the Jataveda, You are lauded in all sacrifices and in turn you bless us with happiness.  In the place of sacrifice you abide as the person who performs the sacrifice, ancient and recent, and even as the place of sacrifice.  Oh Agni, may You be pleased to recognize always as Your own kin  and therefore be pleased to make us happy always.  May you be pleased through your magnificence, to endow us with fortune coming from all sides.  6

Oh Agni, you are unconnected with sin and sorrow and destroy them wherever they manifest.  You pervade all sacrifices in the shape of all that is present in the place of sacrifice.  We serve you, Oh Agni,  desirous of being blessed with good fortune of having  a lot of cattle.  May we, overflowing with blissful devotion to You, serve you without any interruption.   May Gods in the highest region of Heaven share their happiness and delight of sharing devotion to Vishnu with me. May such shared worship bring delight and fortune to me on earth. 7"

Devi Durga in Vedas is worshiped as one with the God of fire.  So every fire, every oblation that goes to the sacrificial fire ultimately is shared by Durga..And all our prayers to Agni the Jatavedaa goes to  Devi Durga.

The Vedic hymn clearly indicate that the people of that period depended for their happy life on cattle and wide expanse of arable land.. Absence of rancour to anyone, and complete sense of happiness and peaceful co-existence, leaving  themselves to the will of the benevolent God, who, they believed would lead them in the right path, was the hall-mark of the Vedic epoch.

Can the Mother ever countenance the idea that Her child should fall at Her feet in agony?

In a remote abode of Matha Kali, the infinite Grace of the Divine mother is poured in a torrent on an illiterate goatherd and he pours out His heart in praise of the Mother..
the torrent of inspired words of Kalidasa is the Shyamala Dandakam  breaks loose ... the above is the description of the universal presence of the Mother.

You occupy all the waterspots,
all the holy chants,
all the tantric rituals,
all the yaantric rituals,
you occupy  all the chakras from Mooladharam to Sahasraaram,
you are the manifestation of all the Sakthis,
you are the occupant of all the peedams,
you manifest in the art and science of yoga,
you are the source of all musical sounds,
you manifest yourself if all letters,
whatever sound we hear is your manifestation,
you stand spreading the entire universe,
you are the bountiful result of all vows,
and you are the all (the whole or sum and substance) in what we call the whole,
you are the material being dwelling in all that is in the universe,
you the mother of the whole universe,
you protect me, you protect me, you protect me,
Mother,
pranaams unto you, pranaams unto you, pranaams unto you

The meaning given above is very rudimentary.  The various words like manthra, tantra, yoga, varna  all have very deeper meanings.  And all have been discussed in huge volumes after volume.  But ultimately we have to fall on her feet and  seek Her protectio....Can a mother bear the idea of her child falling on her feet?
May her motherly love raise us to eternity

my pranams and greetings to you all on Durga Pooja

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मातृरूपेण संस्थिता
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu mātṛrūpeṇa saṁsthitā
namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ
my dear friends,  these days are to be spent in the worship of the mother of energy, mother of wealth and the mother of muses.  anybody who is somebody has become so only because of her Grace.  Our Pranams to Her... no mother will expect pranaams from her children but only unconditional love. Let us love that Mother. How can we repay the affection of the mother?  No way.  Every female is respected as the embodiment of the great mother.  Let us pay respect to that motherhood. There is nothing in this wolrld more sublime that the love of the mother.
श्री मात्रे नमः
śrī mātre namaḥ

Friends I have been taking some part of our cultural past in the shape of ancient books and was trying to explain some parts in my own way..I am sure, I borrowed the sanskrit text but the explanations were purely my own.  Therefore they are sure to be flawed.  I have committed too many howlers,  but hardly ever have I received a hate mail. This is a tribute to your magnanimity.
However I would request you to inform me whether my dispatches are often superfluous and something like chewing the cud, or working of a gramaphone record which has lose some threads.  I would at this stage request my dear friends to inform me  whether I should continue with this.  For me it has become a sacred mission, but I dont want to reach the mailbox of any of the friends as an unwelcome imposition.   I may please be advised.     My pranams to all friends.
