Reminded ever of Krishna.. that impish but resourceful one..

Reminded ever of Krishna.. that impish but resourceful one..
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the boy Krishna entered the neighbour's house in stealth and tried to reach the pot of butter and curd suspended from the ceiling.
He tried to stand on a shaky stool and reached the rope holding the suspended pot.
As luck would have it the rickety stool moved off and fell away leaving the boy dangling from the rope.
No way to reach the floor. The lady of the house came in and saw everything..
The pots of butter the ropes and the imp suspended in the air.
Of course even in that state of suspended animation the tiny tot had managed to help himself to his tummy's content the available dairy products.

The auntie asked "who is there"

"The brother of Balarama"
(To implicate the brother too?)

"Why are you here?"

"Searching for a little calf which is missing from yesterday "

"Did you find it there in the pot of butter?

"No auntie. I was just waiting here for you to arrive.. So that I could tell you and go back home"

What an innocence?

The auntie brought him down.

His body was slippery with butter.

He slithered away from the grip of the auntie and ran away..

I have adapted this story from an age old Sanskrit Slokam..
The slokam coming in Srivaadiraaja yatis ukti pratyukti stotram is as follows.

kastvaṁ bāla balānujaḥ kimiha te manmandirāśaṅkayā|
yuktaṁ tannavanītapātravivare hastaṁ kimarthaṁ nyaseḥ||
mātaḥ kañcana vatsakaṁ mṛgayituṁ mā gā viṣādaṁ kṣaṇāt
ityevaṁ varavallavī prativacaḥ kṛṣṇasya puṣṇātu naḥ||
śrīvādirājayatikṛte uktipratyukti stotre||

this slokam is found in some versions of Srikrishna Karnamrutham of Leelashuka too.

The gopi asks the little Krishna who has sneaked into her house.. "Who are you, boy"
Krishna Replies " The brother of Balarama"
Gopi " How come you are in this house"
Krishna.. " I mistook it to be my own house "
Gopi.. " Okay, but why have you put your hand in that pot containing butter ?"
Krishna.." Mother, I was searching for a calf, which is missing.. So please do not mistake me and get angry with me and do not be sad "

May the conversation as reported above between that Lad Krishna and that nice lady of Gokulam protect us for ever...

A graphic description of Krishna the Child.
perhaps as he was seen by Vasudeva when the naughty imp was born.
Would almost be like the Krishna of Udupi
or our own Guruvayurappan when He is decorated as a child
( But Guruvayurappan wears a red pattu konakam..)

From Sreekrishna karnaamrutam.  of Lilashuka

Meaning
===========
I offer my humble pranams to Krishna through meditation
to ..
Krishna who is just a child, a newborn one, the infant
Krishna who shines in the dark blue hue of Atasee flower (Atasi is Cheruchana in Malayalam...some say this colour is that of Kaayaampoo)
Krishna who is lying stark naked (puppy shame) having the sky and air and the cardinal directions only covering him as if they are his clothes
Krishna the child whose body is decorated all over with various beautiful gold ornaments
Krishna whose hair is just flying free.. being gently blown by the cool breeze (from river Yamuna)
Krishna who looks at the world with wide eyes ( what is there for Him to see? He made all that is seen and all that is unseen)
Krishna who has dark red pouting lips ( who will not fall in love with those lips.. who can resist the urge to kiss those full red lips?)
Krishna the darling child of Vasudeva ( can there be a father who is luckier?)

It is possible that all the desires for worldly enjoyment,
cravings for power and pelf,
which are tempting to the heart,
will arise and push me to the world of sensuous pleasures..

Maybe, those pleasures are sweet to contemplate on and sweeter to enjoy
But I do not know or could think of anything sweeter than
that the divine music emanating from the flute
kissing that ever smiling lotus-like face of
that Concentrated Good Fortune of Nanda
( our Lord Krishna) ,
the music that is reaching me to accompaniment of the music of veena.

I love you Krishna

śrīkṛṣṇakarṇāmṛtaṁ   līlāśukakṛtaṁ

There shines forth the supreme object manifest in the shape of an adolescent youth holding in His hands all the benevolence, Grace  and  path to heavenly abode  to be  granted to all who just bow before Him.

He is filling the universe with ecstasy in the form of divine music  flowing from the flute held on his lips uplifting all to the state of Nirvana and absence of any worldly woes.

He is surrounded by thousand  beautiful girls of cowherd clan (Gopis)  whose upper clothes are repeatedly sliding  down from the places they are supposed to cover  and are repeatedly held back by the girls with their tender hands

He is deluged with the flowers being showered on him by the celestial Kalpaka tree through the hands of the daughters of heaven, the Apsaraas.

The infinite being that is Krishna is seen in His  earthly form  by one of His fervent devotees,  Bilvamangala or Leelashuka.
This is the enigma of Krishna.
His staunchest devotees know that
He is, and nothing else is, the Supreme being ..formless, infinite,  the Parabrahma   But still they love to portray Him in an earthly form.
Sadasiva Brahmendra, a recluse who simply walked all along the  banks of Kaveri river,  without covering his body with even  scant clothing and always in delirious contemplation of the Supreme Soul, requests his own mind to dwell upon the Parabrahama which Graces the earth with its hair adorning the feather of an intoxicated peacock, its cheeks challenging the newly sprouted leaf with its nascent hue,  whose eyes hover with desire around the ample bosom of the goddess of wealth, and who is growing as the divine tree in the humble abodes of his devout servants.
