Lord Anjaneyaswamy has reached Lanka to meet Maatha Sita and breaking through the security cordons through diplomacy and camouflage had met the Divine Mother
and conveyed to her the tidings of Rama
and also had handed over the ring of  Rama
and had given her the assurance  that He would be back shortly taking with Him  Rama. Lakshmana  and the army of monkeys with Himself, Sugreeva the King and others in the vanguard.
He had received Her  head ornament (choodamani) from the Mother as a token to be conveyed itto Rama.
After accomplishing his task in a grand manner, our hero, set out to have a global survey of the country.
One thing that struck Him was the extreme prosperity and  strength of arms possessed by  King Ravana and his subjects.
As an astute strategist, Hanumanji knew that when the country was at the peak of its welfare, it would be difficult for any strong foe to vanquish it.,

Then he is thinking to Himself

"The demons here are not amenable to persuasion...
they will not free the Divine mother out of lofty feelings.
The demons are flush with abundance and any offer of gift is not going to persuade them move even an inch towards sense.
The people are almost like a single rock in their loyalty to the demon-king Ravana.. So   an attack to kill alone can be of any avail here".

A role model for all great strategists of all times, Lord Anjaneyaswamy always matched his action with the thoughts.

His plan was to demoralize and cause destruction to Lanka to the maximum extent possible and wreak destruction on it in such a way that when Rama arrives with His army it will be a virtual cakewalk for the Lord.
So deliberately, He started destroying the flora and fauna in the favourite garden of Ravana.
A few of the watchmen who tried  to oppose Him were despactched to the abode of Yama(god of death)  by speed-post.
Whoever remained just ran off to Ravana to report the disaster.
The fight started, and Hanumanji could finish off a huge number of the army-men of Lanka including some Leading Generals and also the younger son of Ravana, Akshayakumara..
After that he pretended as if he surrendered to the crown prince Indrajit, and was taken to the court of Ravana.
There He delivered the proper message for the Rakshasa king...
After much deliberation on how to punish a monkey, Ravana and his ministers hit upon the idea of setting the tail of Hanumanji on fire since the organ that a monkey holds in great pride  is his tail.
Jumping at the opportunity figuratively and literally, Lord Hanumanji jumped over all the strategic areas in Lanka, His blazing tail in tandem.
The result was that the whole  country with stores of grains and armaments  was gutted.
By the prayers of the Divine Mother and through His own Divine will, nothing happened to the tail, which He finally doused in the Indian Ocean and coolly flew back to India.
The rest is glorious History.

May be Anjaneyaswamy was the first living bomb...and military strategists and even extremists  of all times must have taken cue from Him.

That is the real Raman effect.

अहं वेद्मि महात्मानं रामं सत्यपराक्रमं

ahaṁ vedmi mahātmānaṁ rāmaṁ satyaparākramaṁ
vasiṣṭho'pi mahaejāḥ ye cānye tapasi stitāḥ||
śrīmadvālmīkirāmāyaṇe bālakāṇḍe

This is a very bold statement by Sage Viswaamitra  about Rama.
Rama and Lakshmana had just completed their education in vedas saastras and archery and time was ripe for the children to enter into their ordained lives.

Dasaratha was in the seventh heaven  of happiness in the company of sweet Rama.

From nowhere appears sage Viswamitra one day in the Court of Dasaratha, and his demand was that Rama should be sent with him to protect the yajanabhoomi where he was planning to conduct a yaaga.
The sages lived in forests infested with demons and the demons harassed the bearded simple souls by desecrating the homakundas and showering flesh and blood form above the sky on the assembly of sages chanting vedas.
They wanted protection to conduct the yajna without interruption.
Viswamitra could not think of anyone more capable of giving the sages protection other than Rama.
 Dasaratha was upset.
He was hesitant to refuse becuase the curse of the sage would destroy everything  but he could not dream of exposing his Darling boy to the wrath of Demons.
So he offered that he would go to the forest with his strong army and protect the yajna and requested that Rama may be spared.
 For this Viswamitra say,

" I know the exalted soul that Rama is... he is the warrior for truth.
Not only me the great and lustrous  sage Vasishta who adorns your court as also the great souls who are always engaged in deep penance know who Rama is.."

The indirect chide is, you  Dasaratha, you dont know that the Person playing with you like a son is not what you think He is .
He is not your personal property.
He is Lord Narayana, who has descended on earth to save dharma.
You have no right to claim any special right or affection for Him.
He is the property of we yogis, like me and Vaishta..

See how when it comes to identifying oneself with the supreme soul even an arrogant sage like Vishwaamitra for once forget the enmity he is harbouring for Vasista over miillenia. The kindred souls of the sages recognise the godhead in Rama.
That is the real Raman effect..

Relutantly Rama and Lakshmana were sent away in the company of Vishwamitra.

The duo annihilated the demons and protected the yajna.

Vishwamitra led Rama through the hermitage of Gauthama where Ahalya  slept as a stone and when the Divine feet touched the stone which was Ahalya, she rose back to life.
Rama was further taken to Mithila where He played with the bow of Siva in the palace of King Janaka and broke it and won the hand of Matha Seetha.
The rest is history.

This slokam in Valmikiramayanam is considered one of the greatest  in the whole epic.

Kazzims sandals

I have heard in arabian nights the story of Kazzims sandals... ego is something like this. wherever you want to throw it away it comes back to you. Tell me who is not propelled by ego, and tell me that honestly..the ultimate prodding factor that makes man just go ahead is ego...if somebody tries to add some sugar coat to this ego, calling is knowledge, wisdom etc... okey , i can say only that a donkey by whatever name it is called is still a donkey.. If a part of me stinks and if I admit it, it is honesty, but honesty can never be demanded from anyone and ego or its cousin with some nicer names are the staunch enemies of honesty.

i point my fingers at these funny people

My guns are trained against only the pseudo platitudes and dropping of high sounding definitions that this open   statement of mine would attract and I can
predict with precision who will all wisecrack and hand out definitions

the real human starts to exist when the dividing line between knowledge and wisdom becomes something not exactly definable, something like the triple
point state we encounter in thermodynamics.

If the statement comes from a person I  consider really wise I have absolutely no hesitation in  accepting it.

Simply throwing up two words wisdom and knowledge and making pious comments or

echoing upon some old platitude is not acceptable.

I should know what I know and

I should also know what I do not know.

If these conditions are fairly satisfied, then wisdom starts.

Sanskrit is just another language and
explaining the vigraham or samasam  or some old quote from Sanskrit will not carry us anywhere.

 The persons

with knowledge were always aware that they had their limitations.

 Chanakya

did never  take the weapon.. that part of his operation was entrusted to
Mourya the Chandraguptata.. there lies his wisdom.

I have seen and recorded so many confessions in my
professional life.

I have extracted confessions from tax evaders... there is
no realization for them.. The confessions are simply ad hoc. They retract
the averrments within the shortest possible time.

 Where is the realization

here?.
Immediately after an amorous experience, a person even gets so

satiated that he/she may promise that there will never be a second look at the
other sex.

For how many minutes will such vairagyam endure?

And if true realization occurs then the person will not be there either as knowledgeable

or wise...the state he reaches will be above these two.
I respect viewpoints

of all but I hate pseudo intellectualism.. I know personally that I  have
contemplated on many things, experimented with many thoughts much more  profound  than the
pearls of wisdom I encounter in these threads.

My guns are trained against them  who simply reel off inarticulate sentences as if they were propagating Gospel truths..

People scratch the backs of people whom they know and are attracted to in ways best known

only to themselves   and the persons
lack maturity even to judge a thing on its merits even applying a modicum of  objectivity.

You  wrote about satyam param deemahii, if you say
the deemahi means that you have reached  some realisation, I will readily believe you
because I know you will not tell a falsity for the life of yours.

I am only against pseudo intellectualism and crowd pulling techniques which I see in plenty hereabouts.

Most of the time I feel like a post doctoral student sitting in the first standard holding a slate and slate pencil. .

pseudo humility

The platitude of the people that wisdom is humble just stems from the fact that those who are not having the  wisdom but pose to be humble like the cat wearing rudraaksam to indicate  their own superiority. Many wise persons  from many ages were reasonably proud and arrogant..History is the witness. There is absolutely nothing to brag about humility... it is only either a make-believe of the arrogant for public consumption , or a sign of effeteness. The cliche has gone the rounds too many times. Every single person who was great in any way could become great only because he could showcase himself effectively through knowledge, valour, wisdom, charisma and often even guile. Truth is far better than humility.. I can only see a parallel statement, one who can do something, will do it, one who does not know much will tecah. Apologies to the efficient teachers.. I have also taught much

In yuddhakaandam of Vaalmikiramaayanam, the war between Rama and Ravana is at its peak. It is an estblished practice in warfield to plant wrong information of danger and failure to the opposition camp and, Ravana, the master of  tricks as he is managed to create a scene where a look-alike of Matha Seetha was planned to be executed.  This was reported by Hanumanji to Rama.  In his deep love for Sita, the first reaction of Rama was to faint.. His younger brother Lakshmana, standing near him tried to console him by embracing hime and telling soothing wordsl  But in the course of the speech Lakshmana could not conceal the disappoint at all that happened to Rama, Seetha and him.  They were of the Royal household of the richest Ayodhya and they were even now eageraly being awaited there by a pair of loving brothers, a lot of kinsmen and the whole subjects in unison. But here they were suffering in penury..Lakshmana in his despair is giving vent to his feelins.
"There will be friends only for a fellow who has wealth. There will be relatives only for a person with a lot of walth. Only the wealthy person will be praised as embodinment of manliness, as the storhouse of all knowledge. One who has wealth will be called as valourous, wealthy, source of all fortune and repository of all virtues. One who has wealth remains as a person whose duties, desires, and earthly needs are all effectively looked after and all the needy go around him in supplication. A person could not achieve any favourable results even if he is ready to strive hard, if he has no money.

This is an extreme view of life.  Money cannot bring all  that is sublime in life.  But when  even persons of lofty character and determination and cornered by grief, they tend to lament  over something not very important at all.  In fact the three persons, Rama, Seetha and Lakshmana are Narayana, Maa Lakshmi, and Aadisesha,  all sources of divine fortune and blessing for the entire univers.
Even a falcon cannot fly over money, is a saying in Malayalam.

hands to the rescure of science

I am reminded of the story of a traditional panikkar astrologer. His mother was very old and he was expecting her departure anytime. Some client had asked in curiosity whether the astrologer could predict the date and time of death of his ...own mother. The astrologer did make some calculations and predicted the date and time. The chatterbox as the client was, gave extensive publicity about this. It was the talk of the village that the jolsyan's mother was going to die on a particular day as predicted by the panikkar. The day was approaching fast but the old lady did not show any sign of sickness. The D'day dawned and still the lady was remaining alive and kicking as solid as a rock. The choice for the panikkar was between a live mother and his means of livelihood. His hands worked strongly and with purpose at the neck of the hapless mother, and by the appointed time the prediction proved to be absolutely correct. People had gathered around the astrologer's house and one of the mourners asked the astrologer " How could you fix the date and time of your mother's death so accurately" The astrologer replied." saastraprayogam maathramalla, alpam kaiprayogavum vendivannu-- ശാസ്ത്രപ്രയോഗം മാത്രമല്ല അല്‍പം കൈപ്രയോഗവും വേണ്ടിവന്നു --- application of the science of astrology was not enough...application of both my hands actuallly did the trick..." The rest of it is left to the imagination of all.

He is the destroyer of grief of all who are distressed

Honestly I believe that Rama is an Icon...for  all who believe in honesty, decency and sublime virtues that is cherished by all humanity.

kesavam prati gachchati..

kesavam prati gachchati..
..The thoughts and the knowledge are all emanating from Krishna ( the God)
and it is flowing from Him free and without any discrimination

. The brain, the jnaanendriyas(the cognitive faculties) and karmendriyas(the functional faculties), all have their own limitations perhaps because of the aarjitha karmaphalam(results of our past deed.

Some human units resonate to certain noble frequencies and absorb the divine messages slightly more and give some output which may look good.
But, by any means, it is not because of the merits of the individual body or the sense organs that we find sublimity in certain persons .
The Sun sheds the light an a mirror reflect that.
The mirror is nothing.
The best one can do is to keep the mirror clean of smudges..
but there is no credit for the mirror.
The source is the Sun alone.

This statement will show why Rama is called the greatest human being ever born.  Ravana is killed in battle and Rama has restored His own honour and also the honour of his clan.
He has established Vibheeshana as the king of Lanka.
Now he is paying tribute to his very valorous adversary, Ravana in a conversation with Vibheeshana..

" Ravana was a great person, exceptional in his strength and was capable of vanquishing the whole world.  All enmities vanish with death. Our mission is now complete."

What a nobility!.
Ravana has committed the most heinous crime of abducting the Divine Mother Seetha.
Rama and his trusted lieutenant Aanjaneyaswamy tried all that they could do to avoid a gory battle, which ultimately consumed Ravana.
But Ravana was adamant and arrogant.
Ultimately he fell to the arrows of Rama.
The Lord has enough reason to feel bitterness towards Ravavana, but He is full of respect and admiration to the fallen Hero.  Yes, enmities can be sustained at the worst till the enemy dies.

And what a strong enemy indeed was Ravaneswara!..
The great scholar of Vedas who could mesmerize Lord Shambu Himself with his musical rendering of Samaveda, to find an eternal place in the hall of fame of the devotees of Shiva..
The great warrior who vanquished the whole world and placed even the terrestrial planets under his feet as the stepping stones to his throne.
It would be difficult to find such an anti hero in the annals of any sublime literature.  The death at the hands of the Supreme Lord Himself is not at all a failure. Indeed, the great Ravaneswara had ultimately realizing the ultimate purpose of  his existence when the noble adversary is paying such a tribute to the fallen hero

A comparison from English literature  ..  Shakepearee's  fallen Lady Macbeth.
To quote professor Bradley from his Shakespearean Tragedies.
"The reader who looks unwillingly at Iago gazes at Lady Macbeth in awe, because though she is dreadful she is also sublime".

This is an exclamation of Sita,  a note in introspection  while She is   imprisoned under a simsupa tree in Ashokavana in Ravana's Lanka...
Her remarks were being listened to   by Hanuman before actually meeting the Divine mother.
The contents are more relevant than the scene here.

"Indeed blessed are the noble person and sages who are devoid of any blemishes in thoughts and action.
For these great persons who have gained absolute victory over their senses and body functions, there are no likes and disliked.
Because they are detached from everything in absolute terms they need not suffer the grief coming out of the negligence of the loved ones.
Nor have they to suffer the fear or anxiety stemming out of the evil deeds of the enemies.
I salute such detached souls".

The greatest credit to be given for the divine mother is that She is maintaining an admirable quantum of discretion and sanity even at the face of the worst that could happen to Her.
A lady born in a noble family , married to another equally noble family,  she had to suffer the sojourn in forest for about 14 years
and when the vanavaasa was about to be completed, she is abducted by a demon and imprisoned in a fortress which cannot be breached by anyone  in the normal course.

What else could be expected from her other than despair and despondency?
 But

She keeps her head on her shoulder.
Hats off to, nay, pranaams to the Divine Mother.

the slokas are numbered 63 and 64 in the Gita press version of Valmikiraamayanam

Vibhishana, after having a difference opinion with his brother Ravana on the queston of abduction of Maatha Seetha, has abandoned Lanka and has come in refuge before Lord Rama.
Sugreeva and others are apprehensive whether Vibhishana is only a spy of Ravana who has come to harm Rama.
The opinions of the various ministers are invited.
Lord Hanuman while favouring the acceptance of Vibhishana  after considering his behaviour and demeanour, expresses his opinion ,
as described  in the above slokas.

" I could find no ulterior motives in his words.
If he were deceitful he could not  have moved before us with this  amount of comfort.
Even if he puts on an affected face showing sincerity, if he has come with an intention to cheat, his general carriage would have betrayed him.
It is difficult, nay, it is impossible, for a person to conceal his real intentions and motives before others, howsoever he is an expert in putting on acts.

The opinion of Sri Hanuman, shows how great He was as a student of human psychology.
Bitterness concealed even under  a heavy coat of sugar will show up ultimately.

It is to the credit of Lord Rama that before accepting Vibhishana, the envoy sent to examine him verbally and also to watch his demeanour was Lord Hanuman himslef.

This is another great lesson in statecraft and espionage.

"What is appropriate at this point of time should be discussed.  It is futile to lament over what is past.  Bygones are merely  bygones."

This would appear to be the statement of a wise philosopher given as a sage advice to his keen disciples.

For a lifestyle manager this is very appropriate too.

But the whole irony  lies in this that these are words blurted out by Ravana, on the face of grave adversity.

He had bitten more than what he could chew when he abducted Sita.
The war for annihilation of Lanka and Killing of Ravana is on.

Most of the brave warriors have been slain.
The strong men  who remained were only Kumbhakarna, Indrajit and Ravana himself  Kumbakarna is aroused from his long sleep.
Though a Rakshasa and the brother of Ravana, the huge Kumbakarna is not devoid of  sense of propriety.
He addresses his elder brother in the court and points out all the damages that has been caused by the thoughtless action of Ravana.
His view is that the war should stop with a honourable settlement.
Ravana would hear nothing of it.
He says that he had not called Kumbakarna to hear his lectures on propriety.  Whatever has happened has happened. Still Ravana feels that he can vanquish Rama and his monkey forces.
Kumbakarna should do his duty and stop giving advise, according to the Rakshasa King.
True, unlike Vibhishana the soft younger brother who did not mind deserting Ravana to the camp of Rama, Kumbakarna is more like Karna of Mahabharatha.

He is aware of his indebtedness to Ravana  and in spite of having the good sense that the arrow of Rama is going to kill him,  Kumbakarna proceeds to the battlefield and perishes.

But the ravings of Ravana here assumes different dimensions in the science of management of life.
We should not look before and after too seriously.

After heroic efforts Sri Hanuman has landed up in Lanka in search of Mother Seetha.
He is standing outside the walls of the great city and is planning as to how he should enter and search for the Divine Mother.

The very sight of the grandeur and the security arrangements in the city baffles the great strategist a little.
He comes to the conclusion that if the city is in its present condition of prosperity and care could not be stormed even by the mighty princes Rama and Lakshmana and the huge army of the monkeys.
For Hanuman at present , even to enter the city and gather information could be a daunting task.

He was evaluating the effectiveness of the form and disguise he could enter the city and how safe he will be.

He is wise enough to realize that even the slightest miscalculation on His part can destroy Himself as also the mission of His master.

The sloka quoted by Ramayanam above is by way of a statement by the great minister and spy and it is a great lesson for all who are engaged in statecraft and especially in undercover operations .

" Even for persons with steady intellect,
when faced with dilemmas and especially when they are in none too hospitable environment, the brain fails to work properly.
It is essential that the intellect should be sharpened and put to use properly.
Some of the envoys who assume that they have great knowledge and skill of execution may blotch up the matter in hand if they do not plan and execute with precision.'

Sundarakaandam in Ramayana is considered as most sacred because the exploits of one of the wisest living beings of all time,
Hanumanji, through his individual prowess could achieve the most impossible tasks.
But the strategies brought to use by Him all alone without anybody to counsel Him or reaffirm or validate the effectiveness of the strategies, is a marvel in the annals of espionage.
It should form a basic text for statecraft especially in the field of foreign affairs.
The present foreign service officers may have beautiful faces and the gift of the gab
but what about the minister with monkey-face, that is Hanuman?

Can anyone match Him in ingenuity?

Sekharipuram lore

No  Krishna mama, it was Gopalakrishnaswamy in Sekharipuram and Laksminarayanaswamy in LN puram..When the threat of Muslim attack came both the idols were put in a well as the local lore goes. While retrieving the idols, Lakshminarayanaswamy went to Sekharipuram and our Gopalakrishnaswamy to LN Puram.

Even now our greatest wealth of Sekharipuram is our Laksminarayanaswamy.
It is one of the most beautiful idols one can ever see.
The facial beauty of the lord is beyond description.
We use to have a view of the Lord in full every twelve years when kumbabhishekam is conducted regularly.
In palakkad most of the Laksminarayanan's will be connected with Sekharipuram.
There can hardly be a house there without a Lakshminarayanan in Sekharipuram.
The next most frequent name may be Vaidyanathan.
There are also a lot of Gopalakrishnans in Sekharipuram.
We have a Shiva temple in Sekharipruam where apart from Shiva, Ganapthy, Gopalakrishnaswamy, and other deities are in pratiSta.
Then we have the Emoor bagavathi temple.. for  mother Hemambika,
Ganapathy, and Ayyappan temples are also in the agraharam.
The nairs have two ayyappan temples,
the chettis and thattans have a few mariamman temples,
but the Mariamman temple in the southwest corner of LN temple pond is very powerful..
the pratishta there is said to be equal in potency with the Mother Mariamman in samayapuram.

You must see the google map of sekharipuram agraharam to see the beauty of the agraharam.. a well proportioned set of five streets with  Lord Lakshminarayana Swamy in the strategic centre.

The Village was the first paradesi brahmin settlement  and it was gifted direct by Sekhari Varma Achan the ruler of palakkattussery and the village is named in his honour. It is an exclusively Vadama settlement
. The devaswams of Laksminarayana and Emoor Bagavathi are common and in the beginning all the property belonged to the daughter of the Village, emooramma and Lakshminarayanaswamy and his mami were surviving out of these properties.
Even now if you take a headcount the grandsons of the Village through daughters gained great eminence over the sons of the village.
Take the case of  Justice VR Krishna Iyer or Shri  T N Seshan.. Both are grandson by daughters for Sekharipuram. Both have  brothers by name Lakshminarayananan..
both the Lakshminarayanans are also eminent civil servants and administrators.

Note:  With a heavy heart, I have to state that this post first came as a mail addressed to Sri Krishnan Vaidyanathan Mama,  a vibrant personality in the web..who suddenly and prematurely left us for His heavenly abode just two months ago... Hope you will be reading the posts in web from the heaven... Krishna mama   love  Kanfusion 16-03-2014

This couplet in anushtup chandas was the harbinger of poetry in Sanksrit Language. The great Sage and poet  Valmiki was on his  way to the morning bath in Tamasa River near his aashram.  On a lush tree there perched two lovebirds, holding tight to each other in ecstatic love.  Suddenly came a hunter from nowhere and shot his arrow at the birds as is his wont.  The honeymoon stopped and the  male bird lay on earth writing in death, levaing his mate to eternal agony.  The sigh of this hurt the sensitive heart of the Sage, who cried.
"Oh, hunter, curse on you who mercilessly slayed the male bird while he was in a session of intimate love with his lady love, and has left her in sorrow beyond consolation.  May nothing good and praiseworthy ever happen to you."
The sage was aghast.  He has uttered something sublime, the first ever poetic creation in sanskrit well structured in metre and formation of words.  Why should it be a couplet of curse?
Then he remembered the story of Ramayana which was recounted to him just earlier by the Sage Narada. He though of the Maryadaa Purushotham, the embodiment of virtue, Rama.
The couplet appeared to  assume a different meaning
"O(Rama), do not grieve.  You have attained eternal and unchangeable  place in the hall of fame due only for  the greats for eternity.
You have done indeed right in slaying Ravana, the male of the demon couple, who, in his unquenchable lust had abducted and given grief to the Divine Mother Seetha."
The outpouring of great minds never become curses.  The first ever epic poetry was born...this stanza finds a place in the first chapter of Ramayanam/
The month of Ramayanam  starts today.  The Great Rama without any comparisom, the Divine Mother Seetha the epitome of love and purity and Sri Hanuman the embodiment of valour and faithfulness  may bless us all.

taittariiya aaraNyake mantrapuSpamantraaNi

This is a sublime mantra in the Taittareeya Aaranyakam of Krishna Yajurveda Saakhaa.
The manthram is chanted in unison by all scholars who are present in a gathering for a sacred function as a concluding benediction.
The combination of words and the scheme of chanting envisaged would give us all an ambience of complete   release from  worldly things and a feeling of absoulte union with the Supreme.
The full chant would take about four minutes.
 Like the Sannyaasa Suuktham  ( न कर्मणा न प्रजया धनेन .. Na karmanaa na prajayaa dhanena)
or
the Naasadiiya suuktham (नासद् आसीन्नो सद् आसीत् तदानींनासीद् रजो नो व्योमो परो यत्। nasad aaseetnno sas aasiit tadaneem naasiid rajo no vyaomo paro yat etc...)of  Rk Vedam,
this mantra is also simply something out of the world.
The text or meaning can be given here and one can hear this chanted in tapes or other audio visual media,
but  it would be a perfect experience to see and participate in a groups chant at the conclusion of the worship of God
on a festive occasion
or at the conculusion of a yajna...
The ecstacy is beyond words.

The contents are eulogy in praise of water.
The whole life on earth is completely dependent on water..
and naturally we speculate that the basic source for all that we find in nature is water.
A matter of fact theoretical physicist may disagree and  try to trace the relation between the objects and water but may not  agree that water is the mainstay for all other things .
However  the the imaginative Vedic singer has realized that without the presence of water all other objects are of no use for him
since there can be no life without water.
This fact has been proved by the theories of evolution of life in planets.
Oxygen as an inherent component of  many compounds is found in all parts of the universe.
But  life germinates only when there is water.
In fact nascent oxygen can destroy life completely .
The Supreme Soul who is  our Creator placed the exact combination of gases and water vapour on the surface of this beautiful earth and life started germinating.
On this point the seers singing vedas and the modern scientists are all in complete agreement ..
water is the platform from where alone organic life could be germinated and sustained.
The theory of deluges and change of yugas (the Indian measure of span of a life cycle)  are all based on the variation of the proportion of water and other matter on this earth.

So they started to speculate.
"One who knows the flowers (representing the noble presence) of water, will have his life fruitful, full of progeny and cattle.

The manthra is just expostulation of the glory of water.

With repeated chants stressing the importance of water as the mainstay of all other matter, and by declaring that everything that is sublime is based on water, the Veda troes to underline the supreme importance of water.
Is fire the source of water?
Is the air source of water?
Is the scorching  Sun the source of water?
Is the moon?
Are the stars?
Are the clouds?
Is the rainy season?

Fire is the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of fire becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of Fire.
The knower becomes well established in himself
He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

Air  is the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of Air  becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of Air
The knower becomes well established in himself

He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

The one who is shining hot before us, the Sun,  is the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of  the Sun  becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of Sun
The knower becomes well established in himself

He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

Moon is the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of Moon  becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of Moon.
The knower becomes well established in himself

He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

The stars are  the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of the stars  becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of the stars
The knower becomes well established in himself

He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

The rain-clouds are  the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of  the rain-clouds becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of the rain-clouds
The knower becomes well established in himself

He who knows thus, he who knows the source and basis of water becomes well established in himself.

The rainy season is the source of water, perhaps
He who knows  this becomes  well established in himself
He who knows the source or basis of the rainy season becomes well established in himself
Water is the source of  the rainy seaon
The knower of this, the knower of the fact that there is a secure raft well anchored in the waters, remains well established, well entrenched and safe.

True. all these things have an effect in bringing water to us,

Simultaneously all these things are perceived by us in the benevolent manner we see them only because of the balance of water content of the earth,
The mantra simply says that one who is in full knowledge and in synchronisation with the nature and its contents alone can lead a full and contended life.
In the stanza where the mantra says
 "yo apsu naavam pratishtitam veda..."
one should know that there is a lifeboat anchored in the middle of the water and he has always the final refuge and protection there.. is the declaration of our ultimate faith in the benevolence of natural forces.
The chant concludes with the praise for the Universal God, the king of kings,
King of kings, we praise thee,
You  make us victorious ever,
You fulfil all our desires,
May the king  bless me with wealth,
To fulfill all that I ever desired
Oh, Kubhera (the possessor and custodian of all worldly weatlth), we praiseThee,
Salutations to thee the supreme Lord, king of kings.
