If you have no great men around, seek them out

गङ्गा पापं शशी तापं दैन्यं कल्पतरुस्तथा।
पापं तापम् च दैन्यं च घ्नन्ति सन्तो महाशयाः॥

सुभाषितशतकत्रयं

gaṅgā pāpaṁ śaśī tāpaṁ dainyaṁ kalpatarustathā|
pāpaṁ tāpam ca dainyaṁ ca ghnanti santo mahāśayāḥ||
subhāṣitaśatakatrayaṁ

ഗംഗാ പാപം ശശി താപം ദൈന്യം കല്പതരുസ്തഥാ
പാപം താപം ച ദൈന്യം ച ഘ്നന്തി സന്തോ മഹാശയാ;

By having a bath in river Ganga and worshipping her, one's sins are washed off.  The soothing rays of the moon cures one of mental depression and dejection.  The celestial Kalpavriksha when worshipped,  divests one of his poeverty.  But the  presence and guidance of great seers and gurus will drive away all the three, sin, dejection and poverty.
A noble soul, if present in  place, drives away all the sins in and around him.  He gives solace to all  around himwho are in utter mental or physical pain.   Prosperity seeks him voluntarily.  The people around him are all benefited by this because he has no selfish motives.
If you have no great men around, seek them out  and if it is difficult, become great men.
