God is a term we can identify by a definition.

The term and entity has attributes or quqlities only to the extent we include those qualities in the definition.

True, some people reach a stage where, at least for themselves, they feel that they have attined unity with the Supreme One and that they can choose to call that Supreme being as God..

The carryover of Karma or attachments from previous lives, again is based on some religious concepts..a matter that we cannot validate outside the framework of religious faith.

Nevertheless as far as love and friendship.. or even negative emotions are concerned, we are perceiving them through our sense organs and their control room.. the mind..

Friendship can exist even among atheists or agnostics or between a believer and a non believer too.
