Upanishads say you are Brahman because the inner core within you is occupied by that supreme one, it is of same brahman material.
This need not make you arrogant in a physical or material sense.
You have to interpret things in the proper context.
Many godmen cheat us by spelling out platitudes.
You cannot swallow a sharp knife made of pure iron saying that iron is the most essential ingredient in haemoglobin which is your life blood.
We have to be realistic.
