draw the last drop of blood and then kick him out

सुदुष्करं कर्म कारयित्वा कर्तारमवमन्यते नीचः॥४३८॥
चाणक्यनीतिसूत्राद्
suduṣkaraṁ karma kārayitvā kartāramavamanyate nīcaḥ||438||
cāṇakyanītisūtrād

this is another terse aphorism credited to Chanakya
"An evil-minded boss drives a servant to perform the most impossible tasks, and even if  he achieves the target , never care to give the servant any credit for the hard work but takes sadist pleasure in insulting him."

This is a historical tradition handed over by every selfish boss from generation to generation of his successors. The person down below in hierarchy acquires this evil tendency as he climbs up the managerial ladder.
Mutual distrust between an efficient subordinate and not so efficient boss is monumental.  The boss has always a gut feeling that the man below is going to stage a coup d'etat which may cost the boss his job.  Hence the boss is always mean enough to bleed the best out of the subordinate and then condemn him to the dustbin.  But this will not work to the favour of the boss.. His bluff will be called at any moment.
Feeling of insecurity and lack of self-confidence is germane in some persons..such persons see danger signals in anything performed well around them, if such performance is not  justly or unjustly credited to their own account.  Many cranky persons who deserve to be confined to lunatic asylums are, by some quirk of fate, placed in positions of great authority.  Human society commits such mistake repeatedly. They never learn from the bitter experiences of the past.
