The Master of the Universe has to be fair..
If we read the history of not only Hinduism but even that of Christianity or Islam , we can see He has never spared Himself of miseries..
No reason for Krishna to be killed by an arrow
or Jesus to be mounted on a cross...
No reason for krishna to bear the scandals of stealing syamanthaka, seeing the death of Abhimanyu or the Prophet to flee from Mecca to Medina, if they wanted it in an easy way..
When we get the punishment we really are not given the trouble of recounting the grave sins we have committed..
If we knew that we would feel that He was very gentle... too gentle..
And unless we submit to His will, we can never escape this samsara chakra..
It is meaningless to sound that we are just pardoning God for the difficulties He has given us.. No reason at all..
Knowing by even our small experiences, we can easily say that He has punished only when there was no other alternative..
What we suffer, everyone sees, and we too talk about our sufferings..
but we commit our sins in secret and never admit that to anyone else or most of the time even to ourselves..
We tend to justify things, whitewash sins, fully knowing that we are in the wrong..
We suffer, I agree.. but I am sure God has been fair.. and if He was unfair at times, then He was being unfair in our favour... He has been unjustly merciful.. that is all.
I do not want to question views to the contrary, but God is Merciful..
Things could have been far worse if He were not so..
