आरोग्यं प्रददातु नो दिनकरः चन्द्रो यशो निर्मलम्

आरोग्यं प्रददातु नो दिनकरः चन्द्रो यशो निर्मलम्

भूतिं भूमिसुतस्सुधांशुतनयः प्रज्ञां गुरुर्गौरवम्।

काव्यः कोमलवाग्विलासमतुलं मन्दो मुदं सर्वदा

राहुर्बाहुबलं विरोधिशमनं केतुः कुलस्योन्नतिम्॥

ārogyaṁ pradadātu no dinakaraḥ candro yaśo nirmalam

bhūtiṁ bhūmisutassudhāṁśutanayaḥ prajñāṁ gururgauravam|

kāvyaḥ komalavāgvilāsamatulaṁ mando mudaṁ sarvadā

rāhurbāhubalaṁ virodhiśamanaṁ ketuḥ kulasyonnatim||

This is a prayer to the nine planets invoking their munificience and underlining their respective capacities to bestow benefits to us in distinctive aspects of our lives.

May the Sun, who is called Dinakara because daytime comes every day when he rises, bless us with roubust health.

May the Moon, the Chandra, give us spotless fame.

May the Mars, the son of the earth, provide us with success, wealth, fortune, grandeur.

May the Mercury, son of the moon, bestow on us immense knowledges and sharp intellect.

May Jupiter, Brihaspati the Guru, place us in positons of high status and respectability.

May Venus, the Kavya, make us great orators and experts in fine arts.

May Saturn, the Manda, give us happiness always.

May Rahu ensure that we are powerful in body.

May Kethu ensure that there is progress and affluence in our respective families and clans.

ആരോഗ്യം പ്രദദാതു നോ ദിനകരഃ ചന്ദ്രോ യശോനിര്‍മ്മലം

ഭൂതിം ഭൂമിസുതസ്സുധാംശുതനയഃ പ്രജ്ഞാം ഗുരുര്‍ഗൌരവം।

കാവ്യഃ കോമളവാഗ്വിലാസമതുലം മന്ദോ മുദം സര്‍വ്വദാ

രാഹുര്‍ബാഹുബലം വിരോധിശമനം കേതുഃ കുലസ്യോന്നതിം॥

ഈ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന നവഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചുള്ളതാണ്.

നവഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം തേടിയും അവയുടെ പ്രത്യേക വിഷയങ്ങളിലും ജീവിത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേക തുറകളിലും അനുഗ്രഹം ചൊരിയാനുള്ള കഴിവുകളെ പുകഴ്ത്തിയും രചിക്കപ്പെട്ടതാണ് ആണ് ഈ ശ്ലോകം.

പകല്‍ ഉണരുവാന്‍ കാരണമാവുന്ന ദിവാകരനായ സൂര്യന്‍ നമുക്ക് സ്ഥായിയായ ആരോഗ്യം നല്‍കട്ടെ.

ചന്ദ്രന്‍ നമുക്ക് കറപുരളാത്ത കീര്‍ത്തി നല്‍കട്ടെ.

ഭൂമിയുടെ മകനായ ചൊവ്വ നമുക്ക് സമ്പത്തും, ഭാഗ്യവും നേതൃത്വപാടവവും നല്‍കട്ടെ.

ചന്ദ്രന്‍റെ മകനായ ബുധന്‍ നമുക്ക് ജ്ഞാനവും ധിഷണയും നല്‍കട്ടെ.

ബൃഹസ്പതിയായ ഗുരു ഭഗവാന്‍ നമ്മെ സമൂഹത്തിലെ ഉയര്‍ന്ന സ്ഥാനങ്ങളും അവിടെ ബഹുമാന്യതയും നല്‍കി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ.

കാവ്യന്‍ എന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ശുക്രന്‍ നമുക്ക് വാഗ്മിത്വവും സുകുമാരകലകളില്‍ പ്രാവീണ്യവും നല്‍കട്ടെ.

ശനീശ്വരന്‍ നമുക്ക് എന്നും സന്തോഷം നല്‍കട്ടെ.

രാഹു നമുക്ക് കായികബലം തന്നു അനുഗ്രഹിക്കട്ടെ.

കേതു നമ്മുടെ കുടുംബത്തെയും കുലത്തെയും സമൃദ്ധിയുടെ പാതയില്‍ കൊണ്ടുനടത്തട്ടെ.
