Value of hard work

उद्यमेनैव सिद्ध्यन्ति कार्याणि न मनोरथैः।

न हि सुप्तस्य सिंहस्य प्रविशन्ति मुखे मृगाः॥

udyamenaiva siddhyanti kāryāṇi na manorathaiḥ|

na hi suptasya siṁhasya praviśanti mukhe mṛgāḥ||

Things happen only through hard work.

Nothing can be achieved through simplly sitting and imagining that one is travelling in a comfortable chariot..

The animals of the forest do not enter the mouth of the lion voluntarily..

Every persons should, if he is desiring some achievement, work hard and with purpose..

Building castles in the air would hardly do..

If the lion in the forest just sleeps keeping its mouth open expecing that the animals which are to be his food would enter his mouth voluntarily, that will never happen.. The lion should wake up, do work, hunt for his food, Laziness will not be of any use.,

ഉദ്യമേനൈവ സിദ്ധ്യന്തി കാര്യാണി ന മനോരഥൈഃ।

ന ഹി സുപ്തസ്യ സിംഹസ്യ പ്രവിശന്തി മുഖേ മൃഗാഃ॥

കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ നല്ലവണ്ണം പ്രയത്നിക്കണം

വെറുതെ കുത്തിയിരുന്ന് മനസ്സില്‍ തേര് ഓടിച്ചാല്‍ അതുകൊണ്ട് ഒന്നും നേടാനില്ല.

ഉറങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായിലേക്ക് ഇരകള്‍‍ സ്വയം ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുകയൊന്നുമില്ല

എന്തെങ്കിലും നേടിയെടുക്കണം എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ആള്‍ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും കഠിനമായും ദിശാബോധത്തോടും ജോലിയെടുത്തെ മതിയാവൂ.

ആകാശക്കൊട്ടകള്‍ പടുതുയര്ത്തിയിട്ടു ഒരു കാര്യവും ഇല്ല.

കാട്ടില് സിംഹത്തിനു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കണം എങ്കില്‍ ആഹാരത്തിനു മറ്റു മൃഗങ്ങളെ തേടിപ്പിടിച്ചു ഇരയാക്കണം. സിംഹം സുഖമായി ഉറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നാല്‍ ഒരു മൃഗവും ഞാന്‍ വന്നോളാമേ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് സിംഹത്തിന്റെ വായിലേക്ക് സ്വയം എത്തുകയോന്നുമില്ല.
