निन्दां यः कुरुते साधोः तथा स्वं दूषयत्यसौ।

खे भूतिं यः क्षिपेदुच्चैः मूर्ध्नि तस्यैव सा पतेत्॥

दृष्टान्तकलिकशतकम्॥

nindāṁ yaḥ kurute sādhoḥ tathā svaṁ dūṣayatyasau|

khe bhūtiṁ yaḥ kṣipeduccaiḥ mūrdhni tasyaiva sā patet||

dṛṣṭāntakalikaśatakam||

It is not a good policy to throw insults at noble people..

People of class would choose to ignore the innuendos thrown at them

But sure, such insults would return to the one who generated it, and it would get repaid with full capital and compound interest.

That is stated in the above subhashitam from Dhrishtaanta Kalika Shatakam.

When a person is throwing insults of a noble person, he is actually becoming dirty and is demeaning himself.

A person who throws dirty dust into the sky.. should know that the dust would ultimately settle on his own head..

If one spits out lying flat on the ground with face up, the spit would land up on his own face..

അര്‍ത്ഥം

ഉന്നതനായ ഒരു വ്യക്തിയെക്കുറിച്ച്  അപവാദം പറയുന്ന ആള്‍ സ്വയം ദുഷിക്കുകയാണ്. ആകാശത്തിലേക്ക് പൊടിപടലങ്ങള്‍ പകര്‍ത്തുന്ന ആള്‍ ആ പൊടി സ്വന്തം മുഖത്തില്‍ തന്നെ വീഴുമെന്നു ഓര്‍ത്താല്‍ നന്ന്

ഒരു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ല് ഓര്‍ക്കുക

മലര്‍ന്നു കിടന്നു തുപ്പിയാല്‍ മുഖത്ത് തന്നെ വീഴും
