dagger concealed in smiles

मुखं पद्मदलाकारं वाणी चन्दनशीतला।

हृदयं कर्तरी संयुक्तं त्रिविधं धूर्तलक्षणम्॥।

चाणक्यनीत्याम्॥

Here the Guru is describing the trade marks of a fellow who looks genial but is filled with cruelty inside.. we find that genre in almost all classes of people among us.. but especially among politicians, moneylenders etc

Their face would resemble the newly bloomed petal of a lotus flower

The words spoken by them would be as cool and gentle as the paste of Sandal powder

However, in their hearts is kept a sharp scissor or a cutting dagger ever ready to cut to smithereens the victims ..

These are the three distinctive features of really cruel but apparently benevolent people..

We see such people all around

And often whether we want or not, we try to smile and genial even when our intentions are not so noble.

That is life

But we have to identify those with the smiles of hyena.. if we have to survive..

മുഖം പദ്മദളാകാരം  വാണീ ചന്ദനശീതലാ।

ചിലരുടെ മുഖം കണ്ടാല്‍ താമര വിടര്‍ന്നു നില്‍ക്കുന്നത് പോലെ തോന്നും.
  പറയുന്ന വാക്കുകള്‍ കേട്ടാലോ ചന്ദനം പൂശുന്നതുപോലെ കുളിരുതോന്നും.
പക്ഷെ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ അവര്‍ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്  മറ്റുള്ളവരെ വെട്ടിനിരത്തി  നശിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള കത്രികയാണ്.
ചില  ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്‍ ഇതുപോലാണ്. 

മലയാളത്തില്‍ പഴയ ഒരു ചൊല്ലുണ്ട്.. പുറത്തു പത്തിയും അകത്തു കത്തിയും എന്ന്.. 
ഇതുപോലുള്ളവരെ ശരിക്കും മനസ്സിലാക്കിയില്ലെങ്കില്‍  അപകടമാണ്.
