आदौ देवकी देव गर्भजननं गोपी गृहे वर्धनम्
मायापूतना जीवितापहरणं गोवर्धनोद्धारनम्।
कंस च्छेदन कौरवादि हननं कुन्ती तनूजावनम्
एतद् भागवतम् पुराण कथितम् श्रीकृष्ण लीलामृतम्॥
ādau devakī deva garbhajananaṁ gopī gṛhe vardhanam
māyāpūtanā jīvitāpaharaṇaṁ govardhanoddhaaranam|
kaṁsa cchedana kauravādi hananaṁ kuntī tanūjāvanam
etad bhaagavatam purāṇa kathitam śrīkṛṣṇa līlāmṛtam||

First He was born in the womb of Ma Devaki
He was brought up in the household of a cowherd woman
There in Gokulam, He took away the life of the demoness Putana, who came to feed Him her poisoned breast milk and tried her own illusive trick
To protect the Gokulam from torrential floods, he held up the mountain Govardhana like an umbrella.
He annihilated Kamsa, his own uncle who was an evil despot
He caused the death of all the Kauravas arrayed against Pandavas in Mahabharatha war
In that process He made the sons of Kunti victorious in that war.

ആദൗ ദേവകി ദേവ ഗര്‍‍ഭ ജനനം ഗോപീ ഗൃഹേ വര്‍ദ്ധനം
മായാ പൂതനാ ജീവിതാപഹരണം ഗോവര്‍ദ്ധനോദ്ധാരണം
കംസ ഛേദനം കൌരവാദി ഹനനം കുന്തീതനൂജാവനം
ഏതദ്‌ ഭാഗവതം പുരാണ കഥിതം ശ്രീ കൃഷ്ണ ലീലാമൃതം
ആദ്യം ഭഗവാന്‍ ദേവകിയുടെ വയറ്റില്‍ പിറന്നു
ഗോപസ്ത്രീയായ യശോദയുടെ വീട്ടില്‍ വളര്‍ന്നു
കൊടും മായവിനിയായ പൂതന എന്ന രാക്ഷസിയുടെ ഉയിര്‍ എടുത്തു
ഗോവര്‍ദ്ധനമെന്ന മലയെ കുടയായി ധരിച്ചു
ദുഷ്ടനായ കംസനെ വകവരുത്തി
ദുര്‍ജ്ജനങ്ങളായ കൌരവരെ മുച്ചൂടും നശിപ്പിച്ചു
കുന്തിയുടെ മക്കളെ രക്ഷിച്ചു ജയിപ്പിച്ചു
ഇതാണ് ഭാഗവതം എന്ന പുരാണത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്‌
ഇതാണ് ഭാഗവാന് കൃഷ്ണന്റെ കഥയെന്ന അമൃതം
