Many people and objects in this world are very powerful, having great potential for causing danger.. Often when such people or objects are left to themselves, they may remain quiet and harmless. But if someone tries to provoke them, the results could be disastrous.
The meaning of the Slokam is
When the logs or placed in an oven or fireplace is moved, the quiet fire flares up
When irritatated or disturbed, a cobra raises up spreading its hood wide
Maybe, the capable and strong persons exhibit their real power when they are enraged.
“Wake not a sleeping lion” is a very famous proverb. Don’t ask for trouble. It’s safer to leave things as they are.

പലേ വ്യക്തികളും വസ്തുക്കളും നാം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിലും ഏറെ ശക്തിയുള്ളവരും ഒരുപക്ഷെ അപകടകാരികളും ആയിരിക്കും. പക്ഷെ ആ വ്യക്തികളേയും വസ്തുക്കളേയുംശല്യപ്പെടുത്താതെ അവരുടെ പാട്ടിനു വിട്ടാല്‍ അവര്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും ഒരു ദോഷവും വരുത്താതെ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും . പക്ഷെ ആവശ്യമില്ലതെയും പലപ്പോഴും ഒരു രസത്തിനു വേണ്ടി മാത്രമായോ അങ്ങിനെയുള്ളവരെ പ്രകോപിപ്പിച്ചാല്‍ പരിണതഫലം നല്ലതാവില്ല
ശ്ലോകത്തിന്റെ അര്‍ത്ഥം
തീയില്‍ കനലായി കിടക്കുന്ന ഇന്ധനത്തെയും കൊള്ളികളെയും കുത്തിയിളക്കിയാല്‍ തീയ് ആളിക്കത്തും
ശല്യപ്പെടുത്തിയാല്‍ മൂര്‍ഖന്‍പാമ്പ് തലയുയര്‍ത്തി പടമെടുത്ത് കൊത്താന്‍ വരും
ശക്തിയുള്ള പലരും തങ്ങളുടെ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ ബലം പുറത്തു കാണിക്കുന്നത് അവര്‍ പ്രകോപിതരാവുമ്പോള്‍ ആയിരിക്കും
ഉറങ്ങുന്ന സിംഹത്തെ ഉണര്‍ത്തരുത് എന്നൊരു പഴമൊഴി ഉണ്ട്. അങ്ങിനെ ഉണര്‍ത്തുന്നത് അപകടത്തെ ചോദിച്ചു വാങ്ങുന്ന പ്രവര്‍ത്തി ആയിരിക്കും
