Floored dreams..
-----------
The story of the penniless brahmachari or the young initiate, who got a gift of an earthen pot filled with rice flour comes to mind..
Extremely overjoyed on receiving the rare gift, the boy was walking along the street all filled with dreams for the future..
He planned to sell the flour for a profit and purchase some merchandise which he further planned to sell for good profits..
And with these profits he would build a house, and plant vegetables and cereals too..
He would sell whatever was left after consumption and make good money..
When he becomes affluent he would marry..
And in good time he imagined having a child too..
And in his imagination he saw the child playing and being naughty too, and his wife being negligent once in a while about the child..
The child would cry after stumbling on something and in anger, he would beat his wife..
With these thoughts in mind he just beat with his palm the earthen pot with flour, delicately balanced in his head and presto.. the pot fell on the road, broke and all the contents were spilled ..
The brahmachari's dreams were also shattered and laid waste..
We all appear to dwell in such dreamy territories most of the time..
