Books, our own girl children or ladies of our own family and money:-
if they are given to someone else, they are gone for ever.
Once we lend some books, invariably they will not be returned.
If any of these come back to us, it would be in a lost condition, that is all its glory lost, in an abandoned condition, with no one to care for them, and in a broken condition..
When we give our daughters in marriage to other family, they cease to be members of our family for all purposes (at least in India)
and what to talk of money?
At least the one who borrowed the book or married the girl would remain well disposed to us, but the borrower of money becomes a fugitive and an enemy..
If the book is returned at all it would be in a condition where it is not identifiable, smudged and torn, and leaves all apart..
If any money lent is returned at all, it would be with great reluctance and hatred, with a lot of sense of loss, and in paltry instalments..
And the girl of the family, if she comes back on a permanent basis, it would be after suffering insutls, injuries, and loss of honour
