तुषैरपि परिभ्रष्टा न प्ररोहति तण्डुलाः

संहतिः श्रेयसी राजन् विगुणेष्वपि बन्धुषु।

तुषैरपि परिभ्रष्टा न प्ररोहति तण्डुलाः॥

saṁhatiḥ śreyasī rājan viguṇeṣvapi bandhuṣu|

tuṣairapi paribhraṣṭā na prarohati taṇḍulāḥ||

A very valid advise.

Having close connection and contacts with ones own relatives, even if they are of no use or benefit whatsoever, is for our own good..

The paddy or rice, can germinate and grow to give further crop only as long as it is not separated from the husk..

The husk, by itself, when removed from paddy is of little utility.. But once the paddy is dehusked, it loses its capacity to sprout and germinate..

The sloka underlines the fact that no individual can survive and grow in an isolated world of his own.. The surroundings, environments and the people around would have their own positive and negative qualities.. But one has to live with them.. and grow with them..

To think that the exalted self is more important that others and that he could survice all by himself is just illusion..
