The web is a very funny place.

I was just replying to a friend who pondered whether it would amount to boasting if he clarified that a post in social media was created all by himself
I am sharing my answer to the query
"The web is a very funny place.
Social media is more so.
Whatever you share is presumed by others as just copies of creations of some others.
If you post a nice sentence or present a nice idea even your friends will ask first about the reference or the source.
Low mediocrity is the rule and the standard protocol in social media.
So I would not fault you if you clarified that some of the quotes and references are created by you all by yourself.
People generally do not want a person of above the average capacity or achievements in their immediate surroundings.
They would feel jealous and uneasy
But they will not mind anyone doing well at a safe distance.
Even sub standard performances at a distance would be praised with song and dance.
The best way is just to have friends who will understand your worth and you too in general.
After all do you have any use for fellows who are jealous of you and would enjoy and celebrate if you suffer just because you perform better in comparison with them?
Clinically precise cut off is the best solution."
