But such comfort is shortlived..

अध स्वप्नस्य निर्विदेऽभुञ्जतश्च रेवतः । उभा ता बस्रि नश्यतः ॥

(ऋग्वेदे ०१.१२०.०१२)

adha svapnasya nirvide'bhuñjataśca revataḥ । ubhā tā basri naśyataḥ ॥

( rigveda 01.120.012)

This is a mantram from Rigvedam, Mandalam 1 chapter 120 -12

Some people remain idle and too possessive under the impression that such state of inaction and sense of possession would give them a lot of comfort.. But such comfort is shortlived..

Once the illusory state of comfort ceases, they would be forced to face disappointment and damage.

The free translation of the Vedic mantram is:

The one who continues to be dreaming even at the end of a sleep (like sleep in the early morning), just because of idleness and because he feels temporary pleasure in that, and the one who is rich in resources but is reluctant to share such possessions with the needy just because he is under the impression that hoarding gives him a lot of pleasure, when he is confronted with the fact that such state of dream or sense of possession would give only temporary comfort, and further, when he realizes that comfort that the dream at the end of a sleep and the wealth not shared with others are illusory because the dream would end and the wealth would perish.

Anyway, he is sure to face disappointment and even damage.

അധ സ്വപ്നസ്യ നിര്‍വ്വിദേ ഽഭുഞ്ജതശ്ച രേവതഃ । ഉഭാ താ ബസ്രി നശ്യതഃ ॥

(ഋഗ്വേദം ൦൧.൧൨൦.൦൧൨)

ഇത് ഋഗ്വേദത്തിലെ ഒന്നാം മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ നൂറ്റി ഇരുപതാം അദ്ധ്യായത്തിലെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാമത്തെ മന്ത്രമാണ്

ചില ആളുകള്‍ എപ്പോഴും മടിപിടിച്ചു ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ടും, പിന്നെ സമ്പാദിച്ച കാശ് മുഴുവന്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കാതെ കൈയില്‍ ഉള്ള സ്വത്തില്‍ അള്ളിപ്പിടിച്ച് അതില്‍ ആനന്ദം അനുഭവിച്ചും ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

ഈ ആനന്ദം ശാശ്വതാമായിരിക്കും എന്ന തെറ്റിധാരണയിലാണവര്‍.

കുറേക്കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ ഈ സാങ്കല്‍പ്പികമായ സുഖാവസ്ഥ മാറിപ്പോകും.

അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് നിരാശയും വിനാശവും വരെ നേരിടേണ്ടി വരും.

ഏറെ നേരം ഉറങ്ങിയശേഷം പിന്നെയും അലസനായി സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടും, ആ സ്വപ്നത്തിന്‍റെ സുഖത്തില്‍ നിര്‍വൃതി കൊണ്ടും ആ അവസ്ഥയില്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനും, പിന്നെ ധാരാളം സ്വത്ത് സമ്പാദിച്ചുവെങ്കിലും ആര്‍ക്കും ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതെയും, തിന്നാതെയും മറ്റുള്ളവരെ തീറ്റിക്കാതെയും ഈ പണം ആണ് സ്വന്തം ആനന്ദത്തിനുള്ള ഒരേ കാരണം എന്ന മിഥ്യാധാരണയില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു കൂടുന്നവനും ആയ ഒരാള്‍ അയാള്‍ ഉണരുമ്പോള്‍ ആ സ്വപ്നം യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം അല്ലെന്നറിയുമ്പോഴും, അതുപോലെ ആര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കാതെ പൂട്ടിവച്ചിരുന്ന പണം പലേ കാരണങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ടും പ്രയോജനം ഇല്ലാതെ കൈവിട്ടു പോകുന്നത് കാണുമ്പോഴും, നിരാശയും വിനാശവും അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കുന്നു
