It demands of us a lot of character to judge an issue on the basis of just facts and impartial evaluation..
Such evaluation calls for a sharp and impartial intellect, and complete lack of bias..
In reality, we are trained to worship idols, either in the form of stones or in human form, or in whatever form such icons are usually found..
In that process the persona of the icon gets substituted for the objective analysis of the issue..
The icon, be it Vajpayee, Gandhi or anyone,, would have taken precedence in the minds of the average reader and when the icons are not praised, the readers pr the audience get annoyed
In most discussions factual analysis on what happened gets interpreted as criticism of or an affront to icon or a hero..
Sure, the fallacy does not lie in the words, speech or views expressed by the sincere person who put forth his frank opinio , but many readers just do not possess the magnanimity to view things as they really are..
Sadly, people wear coloured glasses.
This happens most of the time with masses, and politicians thrive on it..
Showmen thrive on it..
And thinkers with integrity are an endangered species.
