spark and the dried wood

एकेन शुष्कवृक्षेण दह्यमानेन वह्निना
दह्यते हि वनं सर्वं कुपुत्रेन कुलम् यथा॥
चाणक्यनीति
ekena śuṣkavṛkṣeṇa dahyamānena vahninā
dahyate hi vanaṁ sarvaṁ kuputrena kulam yathā||
cāṇakyanīti

when a single dried up tree catches fire in a forest, the wildfire spreads and the whole forest is gutted.  Similarly if one single idiot is born as a son in the family, the entire family goes to ruin.
The son-effect has lead many to ruin, be it in politics, be it in business or any other field of activity. 

ഏകേന ശുഷ്കവൃക്ഷേണ ദഹ്യമാനേന വഹ്നിനാ

ദഹ്യതേ ഹി വനം സര്‍വം കുപുത്രേന കുലം  യഥാ

ചാണക്യന്‍

കാട്ടില്‍ ഉണങ്ങി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന മരം തീപിടിച്ചു കാട്ടുതീയായി പടര്‍ന്നു  മുഴുവന്‍ കാട്ടിനേയും കത്തിച്ചു ചാരമായി തീര്‍ക്കുന്നു.  ഇത്  ദുഷിച്ച സ്വഭാവത്തോടെ  കുലത്തില്‍ പിറന്നു വീണ ഒരു സന്തതി  കുലത്തെ മുഴുവന്‍ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ  തന്നെയാണ്.

ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പുത്രന്മാര്‍  കുടുംബത്തിനും  നാട്ടിനും നാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന കഥകള്‍ ഒട്ടേറെയാണല്ലോ
