मुनेरपि वनस्थस्य स्वानि कर्माणि कुर्वतः

उत्पद्यन्ते त्रयः पक्षाः मित्रोदासीनशत्रवः।

पञ्च त्वानुगमिष्यन्ति यत्र यत्र गमिष्यसि

मित्रण्यमित्राः मध्यस्थाः उपजीव्योपजेवनः॥

विदुर नीति

munerapi vanasthasya svāni karmāṇi kurvataḥ

utpadyante trayaḥ pakṣāḥ mitrodāsīnaśatravaḥ|

pañca tvānugamiṣyanti yatra yatra gamiṣyasi

mitraṇyamitrāḥ madhyasthāḥ upajīvyopajeevanaḥ||

vidura nīiti

വിദുര നീതി

even if a person is living in a remote forest as an ascetic minding his own business, there appear three types of intrusions-- from friends, neutrals and  enemies.  Five things accompany you wherever you wish to go.  Friends, neutrals (neither friends nor enemies) enemies,  your means of livelihood and those who depend for livelihood on you.

If one is to lead a peaceful life in the midst of the above five inevitable tags attached to him permanently,  he has to be tolerant, and should never frugal in handing out sweet words if not anything else.
