कामं दुग्धे विप्रकृष्यत्यलक्ष्मीं कीर्तिं सूते दुष्कृतं या हिनस्ति ।
तां चाप्येतां मातरं मंगलानां धेनुं धीराः सूनृतां वाचमाहुः ॥
उत्तररामचरिते
kāmaṃ dugdhe viprakṛṣyatyalakṣmīṃ kīrtiṃ sūte duṣkṛtaṃ yā hinasti ।
tāṃ cāpyetāṃ mātaraṃ maṃgalānāṃ dhenuṃ dhīrāḥ sūnṛtāṃ vācamāhuḥ ॥

Yield all our wishes in abundance
Dispels poverty
Gives birth to great fame
Annihilates the bad effects of possible misdeeds
That mother in the shape of nice words is called by the wise people verily as the matriarch of cows, Kamadhenu, who is ever eager to grant all the wises to those who are close to her.
കാമം ദുഗ്ധേ വിപ്രകൃഷ്യത്യലക്ഷ്മീം കീര്തിം സൂതേ ദുഷ്കൃതം യാ ഹിനസ്തി ।
താം ചാപ്യേതാം മാതരം മംഗലാനാം ധേനും ധീരാഃ സൂനൃതാം വാചമാഹുഃ ॥
ഉത്തരരാമചരിതേ
ഭവഭൂതിയുടെ ഉത്തരരാമചരിതത്തില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള സുഭാഷിതം
സത്യവും നന്മയും നിറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകള്‍
നാം ആശിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം നമുക്ക് തരുന്നു
നമ്മുടെ ദാരിദ്ര്യവും അവശതയും അകറ്റുന്നു
നമ്മുടെ യശസ്സ് വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു
ചെയ്തുപോയ ദുഷിച്ച പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ചീത്ത ഫലം കുറയ്ക്കുന്നു
അതുകൊണ്ട് നല്ല വാക്കുകള്‍, മംഗളപ്രദയായ, അമ്മയ്ക്ക് തുല്യയായ, കാമധേനു തന്നെയാണ് എന്ന് അറിവുള്ളവര്‍ പറയുന്നു
